Custom game modes in Godzilla: Unleashed - Image 1

Pipeworks Software has been feeding fans regular updates on Godzilla: Unleashed (Wii, PSP, Nintendo DS) through their developer's blog on IGN. Their latest entry posted by the title's producer, Shelby Stair Willis, discussed custom game modes - a feature that they've been planning to put in ever since Godzilla: Save the Earth.

While the option to jump straight into a standard multiplayer battle (called Brawl) is still available, players looking for a more unique experience will be treated to a variety of modifiable options. Among them include the number of lives each monster has as well as the victory conditions for the map. Here are a few of the other options that players can tweak as taken from the developer's blog:
  • type and aggression of the military
  • round length & number of rounds
  • type and frequency of powerups and powersurges
  • rate of critical mass accumulation
  • rate of health & energy regeneration
  • monster speed
Willis gave word asking gamers to pay particular attention to the last entry on the list. He said that they think "everyone will have a lot of fun with the option to set your monsters to be slow and ponderous, regular speed, or super fast." In a nod to long term fans of the Godzilla video game series, he also mentioned that have brought back the Tiny Monsters option in multiplayer.

This game looks to be a lot of fun, judging from the revealed features they've announced. In case this got your interest, you might want to know that Godzilla: Unleashed will be released this November 13 in North America with a European debut following on November 22.
