God Eater: Namco Bandai's new local multiplayer action RPG for PSP |
Ó
God Eater is a portable local multiplayer action RPG that owes more than a passing likeness to Capcom's aforementioned games. The game pits up to four players -- the titular God Eaters -- against creatures called aragami that suddenly decide to attack the planet.
Players use weapons called "deus ex machina" to take the aragami down. These weapons can be switched from a blade to a gun to a super-elaborate hybrid "predator form" and can be further customized with items. Armor seems to be customizable too.
It looks like there's more story in this game than in any of the MH games as there's actually a single-player story mode that gives you five different NPCs to choose a partner from.
Japanese gamers will be able to decide this fall if God Eater lives up to the awesomeness (check out that sword in the fourth pic) depicted in the scans. A US release has yet to be announced, but the good news is that Namco Bandai already filed a US trademark for God Eater a couple of months ago.

As a proud Atheist, I might play the game just for the name. It makes me smile.
I'll stick with the original.
is from the upcoming game final fantasy agito xiii for the psp!!!
You do know that has nothing to do with anything, right?
Its has nothin to do with Monster Hunter!
Dont compare them....Monster Hunter aint RPG at all. If I must say this RPG looks great. see if its better then FF7 from the PSP...
U cannot judge by looking at the graphics!
AGAIN do not compare MH with any RPG cuz it aint RPG !
have to wait to see if its some good stuff
hes implying because the name of the game is god eater, but i could be wrong......and seriously that REALLY has nothing to do with it
the screenshots ARE something to nut over, but youre crazy if you think this game looks nothing like monster hunter. this shouldnt even be legal...they just took monster hunter and added a modern twist to it....
....judging by the screenshots.
it does look cool tho.
Remember all of those MMOs that came out to challenge WOW, and how they all faded from memory? One reason for their relative failure to compete is that a good chunk of potential players had already invested many MANY hours into WOW, WOW had refined itself while new MMOs were still rough, and they had to play without their WOW friends to supports them. Chances are this game will suffer the same fate, but it still looks like something to look out for.
