congrats guys, cant wait for UT3 after hearing about all the good things about GoW. Oh and CoD3 getting the best sound? *confused look* I own that game AND my biggest complaint is that the gun switching sounds and the footsteps sound like they were recorded at 8-bit 22khz which is telephone quality while the rest of the game is CD quality sound. THAT is a MAJOR FLAW yet somehow it won..

How is this anti-PS3 news? It is videogame related news which is relevant to many platforms. The fact that there are no PS3 games here shouldn't offend you. In fact, you should be glad that some of these titles are actually coming out for your console a few days before april. Though, it doesn't say much about QJ when they pull stories from their PS3 portal just because the opinion of the editors gets their audiences all up in arms. Pulling a story is worse than apologizing in my opinion.

» Right...

It would run at like 3FPS because its not optimised for the Cell CPU and the VERY different acitechture. ALSO you can clearly see him press on the analog stick and nothing happen at one point.

It sad that Okami was left out because of the AIAS fee policy. No offence to the rest of the nominees and winners, but I think Okami would have picked up a few trophys. Art, Animation and Best Console Game at least. But thats just me.

» gues what?

I bet that a few years down the road, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences will be kicking themselves in the but for choosing Gears of War because they will realize that Wii Sports reinvented the whole idea of video games! I also believe that TP got little recognition because people saw it as a port from last gen. So what? This is the only game I got so into, that I actually panicked several times! I even felt closed in when several enemies were around me! I also could not believe how low the loading times were: The longest loading time was about 3 seconds; I would like to see Gears of War try to top that, and keep that title: Metroid Prime on the Game Cube eliminated the loading times! I bet that MP3 will do it again, with a larger disk format.

Oh and I bet that other games that come out in the future will top Gears of War by such a big margin, that it will be treated only as a short lived game. Guess what? How many people remember Super Mario brothers? I bet almost everyone who played it. And what about Goldeneye 64? People remember it for only one reason: it changed multi player fps games for ever. Oh and who could not forget Sonic the Hedgehog (the original one)?

I bet that Gears of War will go down only as a popular game that pushed graphics forward a little bit (in several more years, maby the next gen after this one).

I beleive that micro$oft put some money into making sure that their games won...

Sorry about making it a little long.......

» Yeah Not Totally Convinced

Half of the video is dark and it would not be hard to press a video input button to show an Xbox 360 running and then switch back to a PS3 screen. When the screens transition to the XMB then to the game, it is not absolute in showing the real scope of what is going on and what this guy is doing. Another thing is why would this guy submit this poor quality video. When he talks about all that is going on and saying things like "you can see the hard drive light blinking" and such you can't because of how he did the video.

Anyhow thanks for the interesting video. It gets me thinking.

» Despite what other's think... you're right.

Put a lot of time and money into development and you're bound to get it right. Big deal, MS throws the big bucks - but they are making them back in gold.

Gears of War is obviously the killer app right now. If you're a fps person or not - it's pretty amazing.

Congrats

» ps3 is for noobs

sooo, let me get this straight...

ps3 fans paid $200 MORE just so they could play (with poor quality I might add) another consoles games? haha, that just proves how stupid ps3 fans are. thanks for showing everyone this, it made my day!

Wii60 FTW!

by Seoulfood - 2007-02-10 06:03
» Yea

Even if Gears could run on PS3 (which I assume it could since UT3 will, and it's supposed to look better than Gears) it would take way more than to just yank the files from the original disc and tweak it a little.

» Bored first post LMAO Jealous or what

You seem to have got your Keyboard set up wrong as your s is actually coming out as a Dollar sign,

Go back and play on you NO AWARD P$3 made by $ony

by reter - 2007-02-10 07:18
» LOL PS3

PS3 got what it deserved NOTHING,this is not being stupid its just a fact it has nothing that should get any awards for, but why PS3 owners think they need to comment negatively against Gears and the 360 is beyond me.

And as for those posters posting some complete crap about a fake pointless youtube video is showing that they have no confidence in their system, then again I suppose seeing it now is being outsold 3 to 1 by the Wii in its own stronghold of Japan must be making alarm bells ring.

by mard - 2007-02-10 07:31
» Try working out where your S is on the keyboard

OMG of course Microsoft put money into games,do you relize Gears of war cost less than 10 Million$ to make,(MS pay for their investment in the game) Now look how many millions they have sold the Profit is amazing and so is Microsoft Business sense, but of course you choose to ignore the fact that if the game would of been crap MS would of LOST millions.

Do you really think $ony dont do exactly the same thing then?.

» PS3 is new

Guys, Gears is a great game. what most are failing to look at is the fact that resistance fall of man is a release date game for a system that no one knew what it could do. Was gears of war a release date game? The two titles shouldn't even be compared. resistance as well as most of the other ps3 games were rushed like we can all expect from any new system. What games on 360 were as good as Resistance when the 360 came out? aside from that a measly 16 guys online at one time? im sorry but 40 man brawls is where its at. anybody that says it lags hasn't played it or has a bad internet connection. Your all right though, Gears looks great has, great gameplay and deserved to win. Lets see what PS3 does in 2007. KILLZONE ANYONE?

by k - 2007-02-10 11:25
» Hmm

You cuttingly and wittingly point out that Microsoft's motivation is money. I'd thought that was the entire point behind setting up a business.

by Andrew - 2007-02-10 12:41
» PS3

Resistance is a good game that's why got like in nines from a lot of websites and magazines. I personally believe it to be a ok game. In my opinion the only reason it got nines was because it was a launch game. Nevertheless who cares it keep me occupied for about fourteen good hours. Also I didn't care for forty man brawl, it's just two many people. I think thirty would be ideal for any fps. Also 360 had a lot of games over looked by reviewers; King Kong, Kameo, Project Gotham, Condemned, and NFS were all great games that I bought for the 360. The only game I own to this day for PS3 is Resistance. One more thing Killzone is going to suck. I hate to say but I feel that it will not live up to the hype, hope that I'm wrong.
