This is the type of thing that only non social people could enjoy and probably those who like fantasy lives. I mean come on. If you want to go bowling..go bowling, watch a movie..watch a movie. You dont need to live in virtual world to meet people. Also creating your own house and making it look expensive... I mean what the hell its just like having 5 grand and trying to show off that you have 1 million dollars. Overall I think this will be a flop. People don't have to time and probably dont want to spend the time wasting on this type of thing.

This owns XBL and Wii Shop. Its basically a mixture of those two and PSN but in virtual. Sure you dont have to socialise there you can just go to download new content for your ps3, but its the fact you can. On XBL you only have a list of friends that u can talk to. On here you have an expanding community of people who each have their own personal space. This can also be used for future game devlopers such as rockstar to make a space for their future games so you can download content directly from them.

But its not about socilising. Basically sony has made a really good move here and took idea from XBL and Wii shop and changed it into a virtual world instead of just a webpage on your console. Instead of searching for game content you can actually go into a game shop and look for it there, and if you have time you can meet new people. This basically makes downloading content fun!



Many people now think they will never socilise on it, but they are so wrong. On XBL many people socilise and invite people to games. Well on this you can do all of that and actually have a visual representation of the person, and invite them to future games.



If it goes to Sony's plans you could see big game companys such as Ea and Rockstar making their own virtual space for people to visit and try on themes and clothes from games. And download future content personally from the Rockstar or EA space.



This is a revolution for online downloading and socilising on consoles, and I think this is a bloody brillient move by sony!

I agree with jason and disagree, I disagree because I know many people will like this, but I kostly agree with jason because it's 100% true that only anti-social people will be on a virtual world, maybe people afraid of going to the bowling place or movie theaters in real life? Anyways this is why the next generation will be a dependant lazy generation. Also, this could be a great opportunity for game developers. They could put downloadable content such as clothing or furniture in their games so people can show off and such.

Okay, let me give you some examples. First, Myspace. Myspace has over a hundred million users. Second, Second Life. The game Second Life (virtual avatars, etc) exchanges more than 1 million dollars day and is immensely popular.

You ask questions about what it will have when they clearly say it in pictures and videos. This isn't crappy Mii stuff, or a useless xbl where you play games. This is how the PS3 home experience will work.



Go home, turn on your ps3. You log into your online home. There is a new message on the wall that says there is a new demo you can play for killzone 3. Sweet! you stroll out of your apartment and down to the lobby.



There it is, the new arcade machine with a crowd of people around it. Everyone is talking about how great the new game looks! You say hi to a friend you were playing RFOM with the other day, chat about a few things, then go check out the demo.



You walk up to the machine and the little screen expands to full screen. Now you are playing the demo of the latest and greatest game! It's sweet, but you feel like something else.



You exit the demo, and walk to the movie theater door in the lobby. They just put up their latest release on video, spiderman 4. You walk up to the door and a little popup appears, asks you to pay the $2.00 to watch this movie. Paying lets you watch the movie 3 times, whenever you want. You hit ok, and it lets you into the theater.



You walk down, find a seat, and fullscreen again, now you are watching the movie. Streamed to you in 1080p.



Towards the end of the movie a friend of yours from the UK sends an im, they want to play a game of pool. The movie ends, and you leave the theater.



You head over to the arcade, where your friend is waiting by the pool table. Unlike the crowded bar (and the fact that your friend is 4000 miles away) when you walk up to the pool table there is always an open table. You guys play a few rounds, then you remember that you just took some new pictures of your new car, and you suggest that your friend comes back to your apartment to check them out.



You both head over to your private space, you have to allow someone in with you to check it out, or you can certainly have a public billboard with your pics and videos, like a myspace front page.



Your friend comes in your apartment, which you have decorated the walls with new pics. Oh yeah, you have a new video you took on your digital camera of a local band he has to check out. you guys sit on the couch and turn on the plasma. A quick browse of your files and you find it, then it is playing on both of your screens at the same time. Your friend really likes the band, so you go to your stereo, and select the album you ripped, then pass it to your friend. Now his system has downloaded the music from you. You have to show him one more thing, you beat a new level in Lair 2 and unlocked a pet. You both walk over to your balcony, where a little pet dragon is chillin on the railing, cleaning his toes. Bad Ass...



Your friends IRL have showed up and have been watching the past few minutes of your pshome activities. A few of them own x360s, and cry in shame... They never knew how cool the experience could be!



I only added things like the pricing structure for the movies. If you look at all the pics provided of PShome, and the peoples thought bubbles, this is all part of the experience! There is nothing like this right now. It's not second life. You can walk up to someone new, ask if they wanna do a track in motorstorm and start playing the game right from there.



Quit with the comments about 'this will hold off ps3 users until there are good games' There are good games, and great games now. If you had the money for a ps3 you would know that. Besides, this won't be out till the end of the year.



Who cares about micro transactions for things like furniture and clothes. A LOT of people will be seeing this. It'll be fun. A few bucks to decorate your online persona is fine.



You get everything for free that xbox users HAVE to pay for. In addition to that, you get countless other games, demos, and features for free. And a new social networking site, for free... Then, if you WANT to pay for it, you can buy top downloadable games, or stuff for your persona.

I think that game is gonna be huge. Hopefully it's a cheap downloadable, as it would have to be. If you can play that game and chat on your BT headset at the same time, solving puzzles with people you either just met in home, or friends around the world, it will be a phenomenal way to waste some time. All the future developments for the PS3 are promising and generations ahead of the wii and 360. As more and more figure this out, it will be more apparant who is winning the true console wars... But hey, let em try.
