GDC 08: paying a visit to Sony's booth - Image 1

Some of the announcements Sony made during the 2008 Game Developers Conference was the PhyreEngine, and the detailed report on the PlayStation Network. Over at their booth, they were also showing off some of their popular and anticipated games.

One of the highlights at their booth was the upcoming Echochrome for the PlayStation Network. We recently covered the game's five laws of perspective, a few days before a trailer for the game went out. This game's sure to be a mind-bender.

Echochrome will have multiple solutions for its puzzles, but we're betting it's not going to be any easier. In fact it would be more frustrating knowing there are multiple solutions and you can't find even one. Sony featured a fast-paced, 10-minute demo for the game at the GDC.

They featured two games for the PSP: Patapon, and the highly anticipated God of War: Chains of Olympus. No new details here except that Ripten reports that God of War: Chains of Olympus was a really satisfying game, despite some limitations to controls.

So that's what Sony's been up to down at their booth during the 2008 GDC. Too bad they didn't release more info, but even so we can't wait for these games to actually come out so we can get our hands on them. Check back for updates.

This is great...

PSP has been slowly working its way up the gaming food chain. I really love my PSP nowadays. There are a lot of good games now (MGS: PO, Tekken: DR, both Syphon Filters, Daxter, Ratchet and Clank: SM and the list goes on). With these three great additions (GOW has gotten 6 reviews or so and all are 9 or above, the Patapon demo was fun and Echochrome looks fantastic), not to mention other games like FF: Crisis Core that are looming on the horizon, it is quite a good time to be a PSP owner.
