Crackdown tops the charts again! - Image 1Third time's the charm. This rings true for RealTime Worlds' crime-fighting superhero title Crackdown as it rolls into a dominating third week on top of GameFly's 360 charts. Despite what other people may say about what triggered Crackdown's success, this US$ 60 game is making waves.

And what's this? Electronic Arts' NBA Street Homecourt still latches on to Crackdown's tail, keeping the second seat warm and comfortable. Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition still hangs on to the top 3 spot. But the highlight of that week was the significant requests for God of War II for the Playstation 2.

Here are the rest of the results of GameFly's game popularity charts for the week ending February 16.

Xbox 360
  1. Crackdown
  2. NBA Street Homecourt
  3. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Playstation 3
  1. Virtua Fighter 5
  2. Major League Baseball 2007
  3. Formula 1
Wii

  2. SSX Blur
  3. WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Nintendo DS
  1. Diddy Kong Racing
  2. Wario: Master of Disguise
  3. Hotel Dusk
PSP
  1. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
  2. Ghost Rider
  3. The Warriors

How much does this say about the game.

Most of the people are taking reviews to heart and renting the game first.

thanks pirates, now we can wait 2 yrs until mario 64 is actually playable with sound while the psp gathers more ports. Sega gave up on the psp before they even released their original game (crush) for it.

NDS just sold 1.6 million last month in America and 210,000 last week in Japan. Even with a major DS Lite shortage the DS still managed to outsell the PSP.

this is insane. first EA shifts focus from the DS to the PSP, then EB calls the PSP old, then kmart drops psp products, and now Sega is dumping the psp. its almost like the psp is doomed.

» That is BULL go look at the sales even on Preorder

You talk rubbish go check out how many this game sold on preorder alone, in fact it proberly sold more than VF5 and F1 on the PS3 comined.

What it says about the game is people prefer Crackdown to either Virtua fighter 5 and Formula 1 on the PS3 thats what it says about the game.

Amazing that you dont even have a 360 but a PS3 and dont even mention the PS3 titles at all that are in the chart.

Any other questions?.

I agree and he also overlooked that their last chart LOST PLANET 360 was the biggest title and is a huge hit for Capcom and no Halo Beta their either..

by So - 2007-02-21 21:43
» PSP has no original games

Sony do not develop any original titles and just rely on ports which really dosent show much confidence to anyone all, while the DS gets new Nintendo games every few weeks what do you expect?.

*****ty game - if I got the non halo 3 beta one I'd borrow a gun from a yank and go shoot up a school.

I wonder if the game shop has enough room it's pre-owned section for a million copies of crack*****ing** ********pantsdo wn

You want proof that the Halo3 beta has ALOT to do with pre-order sales, go read every single crackdown forum and you will notice that alot of people are asking about the beta keys and how long they will be available.

Crackdown is average at best, reviews of the game really bashed the game and from the high number of people renting the game, thats evidence enough that people are hesitant on purchasing it when you can pretty much beat the game in a couple evenings.

I do own an Xbo360, I have played the demo, and theres not much in the game that warrants a $60 purchase. I'll be waiting on the price drop for this one.

Man I totally agree, there is no story whatsoever and the missions are all the same. My buddy already beat it in two nights and returned it. Its fun and the graphics are great but there is just no content at all. Seems to be a recurring trend with a lot of 360 games.

» pissed about Crackdown

Ok, I understand how everyone is pissed to pay $60 for Crackdown. But I mean really there are few games out there I will pay $60 for. That's exactly why i rent using gamefly. If I want to put some cash down for a game, I might, after renting and playing it a little. And even then I'll try and get a used one, and get a discount with the reward points gf offers.

So quit the complaining.
