Gamecock to spew juicy games: Mushroom Men, Hero, etc. |
Ó
As pervy as this may sound to some, the truth is, we're really not being silly here. We're going to try to do our best to type this down despite some of us here being worried that we may get complaints related to political correctness.Wideload Games, has recently announced that they picked Gamecock Media Group to publish their next title Hail to the Chimp, which is a self-proclaimed impossible-to-classify party game based on politics in the animal kingdom. The game is set to be released in spring 2008 for next gen consoles.
The thing is that's not the only game Gamecock is planning to spew. Teaming with Auran and Firefly Studios, Gamecock will also be releasing Fury (Auran), a massively multiplayer "player vs. player" game for the PC this 2007 holiday season, and Hero (Firefly Studios), a comical dungeon romp for next-gen consoles and the PC on spring 2009.

Handhelds are also set to see some juicy offerings from Gamecock. Developed by Red Fly Studios, Mushroom Men - a game about a civil war between men and their mushrooms, er, I mean mushroom like men - is slated for a 2008 release for next-gen and handheld platforms. Crackpot Entertainment's offering to handhelds is a game entitled Insecticide, and it should see a 2007 holiday season release.

A recent press release says that the goal of Gamecock Media Group is to bring originality and humor back into video gaming. The new independent game publisher is comprised of former executives of Gathering of Developers (G.O.D.), and promises to favor only the most innovative and original video game developers in the industry.
Here's a video teaser of Mushroom Men as spotted on GameTrailers, just in case you guys want to have something to judge Gamecock games with. We'll let you guys decide if Gamecock's offerings are sticky or not.
Finally just to prove to you folks how unhinged these folks from Gamecock are, we'll leave you with this YouTube video of them tearing through Las Vegas.
