Okamoto - Image 1Japanese developers Game Republic and game movie makers Brash Entertainment have announced that a deal between them has been inked for an upcoming project. It will be a game based on a Hollywood movie, and it should be ready come 2010.

What exactly that movie is remains a mystery. It was only described by its handlers as an exciting prospect whose host platforms are still unknown.

"In collaborating with Brash, we were introduced to a very compelling fictional world and given the freedom to expand it through the game," Game Republic CEO Yoshiki Okamoto comments.

"We are working directly with the creative talent from the film, and feel that the close collaboration will result in an amazing game play experience that immerses the player in an incredible fantasy world," he adds.

Game Republic is credited for the Genji and Folklore IPs. Okamoto, on the other hand, has worked with Capcom for a long time, making his mark on such classics as Street Fighter II and the Resident Evil series.
