The Game Developer Conference - Image 1The CMP Game Group, host of the GDC, announced that the Austin Game Developers Conference will be held starting this September 5-7, 2007 at the Austin Convention Center. After the CMP succeeded with the Austin Game Conference last 2006, this year's GDC in Austin will feature four main conference tracks.

The four tracks are divided as follows: one for online gaming, one for audio in gaming, one for writing games, and the other for the People's Choice track. Each track will have its own discussions on issues and developments in relation to their topics.

The GDC will also host a Game Career seminar for students and people who are looking into joining the game industry. There will also be a Career Fair for the experienced game developers to join some well known development studios.

The online games track will dive into issues that revolve around today's online games, which include MMOs, virtual worlds and other online titles. The People's Choice track will hold sessions that members of the Austin GDC community, including the conference's supporters, want to see.

The audio games track will have professionals discuss techniques and processes for sound and music in games, especially those for recording and enhancing sound. The writing games track will have developers voicing out their inspirations and how to best develop a new game concept or story for future games in various genres.

Jane Pinckard, the conference manager, said:

The Austin GDC offers top tier content, and it will also give industry professionals a chance to meet and network with like-minded game developers. Though the Austin GDC community is anchored regionally, it reaches a national - and international - audience. We're looking forward to the chance to improve upon the great work that has been done in Austin, and to grow the community and the event while maintaining its core values.

The GDC will pool all of its resources, including their experience and expertise to make the 2007 event even better than the previous one.
