Frustrated NBA Live 07 fans send letter to EA |

Which is what members of the NBA Live Series Center Forum, the largest community forum for the NBA Live series, have done after they played NBA Live 07 - and, well, hated it. Yep, these hardcore fans (as they describe themselves) hated the game enough, to write this open web letter to Electronic Arts to express their disappointment:
For us however, NBA Live 07 is the final straw... Until this release we overlooked any flaws in the game, ones that some of us considered major even if others of us considered them minor. But this release has ignited feelings that EA doesn't care about its fans, which is the reason we are writing today.
The open letter vocally accuses EA of ignoring the fans, from wish lists to bug fixes, not only in NBA Live, but, the letter writers say, in other places like FIFA and Battlefield 2 as well. While they have not entirely given up on EA and NBA Live - their petitions for patch fixes and other wish lists continue. But: If this continues it seems inevitable that more and more players will eventually give up on NBA Live.

EA, in my honest opinion, has a LONG history of putting out mediocre games with bugs as fast and soon as possible with the simple thirst for money as their only drive... I mean look at all the need for speed games coming out one after another each one more mediocre than the last... I consider need for speed underground 2 rivals to be a very good example.

I find it somewhat ironic that the post while it is reporting news from other places basically states the game is lacking (I have not played NBA LIve 07 or any other NBA game since NBA Jam for SNES, not a sports game fan). Yet right below the articles end there is a Buy NBA Live 07 links right there. It's like saying: "Previous buyers of this car said it sucks but, here is where you can buy it for yourself!".
Uh, yeah man it's MUCH more realistic, in some plays you can dunk from behind the backboard, sometimes you throw the ball and it falls like a lead ball instead of bouncing, and for some reason some players have become JEDI and can use the force to attract the ball toward their hands... yep happens in the NBA ALL THE TIME LMAO
NBA sucks. But I've never had a problem with any of EA's games and have supported them since the first NFS. I'll continue to suppot them.
And 07 really wasn't that bad. I played it at a friends and while there were some glitches, it was fun. What's the alternative? NBA 2k7? lmao. EA pwns 2k in sports

They always put a buy link in for a game their posting an article about, it's just what QJ does. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's not like it takes to much effort to post a hyperlink.
EA really needs to pay attention on the games they are making. After seeing thoes videos of the glitches, it looks like EA doesn't give a damn anymore. EA is mostly known for sports games and if they can't deliver on that, then what should they do next. And EA wanted PSP to step it up. EA should be the ones stepping it up.

The one reviewer at amazon link seems to think differently. He thought it was so good that it inspired him to right his first review ever! haha.
I saw the videos and I must say EA should be forced to refund the money because of false advertisement.
They advertise the game as being realistic. Those videos prove that the gamne doesnt deliver on that claim. So in FACT, they need to get a lawyer and sue EA for False Advertisement.
How realistic is a game when you throw a ball and it doesnt bounce. When you dunk and the ball goes from under the hoop and back in. When a person blocks a shot and flies accross the court. When players seem to have invisible hands that extend 4 feet away from their real hands and steal/rebound/pickup the ball without touching it.
False Advertisement, thats grounds enough to sue EA. They make crappy games everywhere invluding NFS. It has a whole range of bugs that I would rather not get into. EA sucks, competition is better.
Tirger worrds has to many bug to I love the game play but I hate EA and there buggy games.

That ad made me laugh. Sometimes the ads are appropriate but after fans saying the game sucks, you don't put:

EA should die for killing the NFL2K series. I am not saying it was better than Madden it's just they killed of a good franchise that 100 of thousands of gamers enjoyed, including me, and younger gamers love EA games that's why most of their games are not that realistic because younger gamers don't care about realism as much as older gamers.

Okay, to set the record straight for everyone who's amused - or indignant - about the Buy link:
(a) we (meaning QJ) didn't trash the game. Read the article carefully: "members of the NBA Live Series Center Forum" wrote the letter that's the subject of this article. Not us.
(b) well, some of the comments here also indicate that some people still enjoy the game - despite the flaws that caused the NBA Live SC Forum letter in the first place. So if they still want to, the link's there.
Hopefully this settles that matter.

hey, its been a long time since ea actually cared about its customers,these guys got it right nba live stinks big time and speaking of ea , madden could use some work it seems like its gone from a great simulation to a dismal arcade game and a bad one at that. EA........its time to wake up or give it up.
Could you guys at pspupdates please STOP trying to make so many of your articles more or less obvious ads? Lately it feels like it's almost half of them, especially on slow news days. It's okey with the usual ones, like the google adsense ads... but please keep the advertising away from your news reporting. It's making you look very unserious and seriously damages your credibility in the long run. Just a tip guys. Nobody likes a sellout.
@9: It's not ironic, it's another form of marketing. By saying "this product stinks so darn much... says THESE guys!" they're trying to suck you into actually CARING whether this game is good or not, even if you didn't earlier. Making you think and care about the product is one step closer to you actually playing and buying it. It seems like a strange move to make, telling people NOT to buy something, but sometimes it actually works much better than being all "Oh, this is so great, buy it!"... because people are getting so darn used to that kind of ads, that they don't even care about them anymore. Telling people to trust their own judgement, however, especially if you say something negative about your product or them trying it, is still a somewhat fresh marketing move.
I actually used a variation of this in a marketing campaignsrecent ly.. "don't use this product, it's effects are so good, you'll get into trouble if you try it!". It was a bit of an experiment... but I got like 3 times a better result than with my old "try it, you'll like it" kind of ad...
Wasn't there a lesson to have learned from NBA Live 06? That game was crap too, they took out some stuff and replaced it with useless crap that they hope to attract more gamers but in reality it just made the game even worse. EA just kinda gave up on NBA Live 06 because there were working hard to make the gamers see the sweat on the players for the next gen consoles.
Well, first of all: I play videogamez for about 15 years now and I also followed the 'route' EA was going on with their games. But since FIFA 99 EA decided to spend their money on expensive licenses without thinkin' about to produce a really BIG Game, imo. So i stoped buying EA Games and borought 'em instead to take a look, if there were any ambitions - negative. I don't get it: EA produces games, you buy for about 40$ (PC Games) - they suck!- and EA even got enough money to buy the new licenses. Look at Konami or 2k Games. They always try hard to buy licenses AND produce really good Games such as Winning Eleven or NBA 2kX - they REALLY earn their money with great Games instead of throwing THE SAME GAME with an OTHER TITLE on the market - year for year.
If there's no change in sight - EA's going down!

i just bought tiger woods the other day and it was so crap that i sent it back. but i dont understand why they didnt make it better, it is just exactly the same as tiger woods 06 apart from the power bar is different and the menu bar

Seriously. EA gets hatemail a LOT worse than this on a daily basis on games that are perfectly fine. Why would they listen to 16 freaks on the internet about a game that they KNOW has issues?
Nothing will change until people STOP BUYING these games.
But for that to happen, there'd have to actually be something wrong with them. The fact that they sell so well, even AFTER everyone knows the issues with them, shows just how bad the game really is.
Personally, I hate sports and sports games and wouldn't buy one if it cured cancer. But these people need to learn how to deal with their issues.
And adding an addendum to an Open Letter to advertise other petitions you have started is absolute idiocy. It dilutes your letter without doing anything at all for your other campaigns. Way to go, losers.

All '07 sports games from EA this year are down right horrible. The only reason I got NHL 07 was cause of the skill stick and the demo was good. Now I know why the demo was only a shoot-out cause the rest of the game is horrible. I wish some other companies would start making sports games to battle out with EA. The only EA game I'll be buying is C&C Tiberium Wars. (Well not "buy" I'm going to download it cause I'm cheap and hate EA). I only wish the average gamer wasn't so damn stupid and would stop buying crappy games so EA would start to putting out some quality stuff instead of crapping into a case and shipping it out the door.
The NBA 2K* series is far superior.

For what i heard gamespot and ign agree that the PSP is better than the ps2 one and its almost as good as the x360 one yet gamespot says it sucks but also ign says is great,whatssup with that?..
Theres like 6 sites that reccomend this game but if theres something i know about ign is that some of their reviews are buyed,like the Miami vice Movie,they give it a 9.0 when the movie sucked ass.
Also other sites reccomend this,so i dunno what to think?.

I am the biggest NBA Live Fan in the World I Love Basketball I start up leagues Host Drafts and Teach People How to be better players by daily beating on them in the Game. There are some major glitches that EA could of took more time to decipher and they should of never changed the freethrows that was crazy but I still can play the Game all day despite the glitches
I think that there is something wrong with all the men that hate sports they must of not hade a positive male role model of something or are soft girly men that can't play any sports because they bruies easily

NBA LIVE 05 was the best
EA has become so big, that its main point is to make as much money as they can. Sure that's the point of a business. But the philosophy of smaller companies is to make quality games, then the money would naturally come in.
For EA, they have a different philosophy. Make as many games as we can as fast as we can in order to sell as much as we can. They love making those movie-to-game games, for quick money which always suck.
All the games i liked that are published by EA are DEVELOPED by ANOTHER company. Someone tell me one GOOD game that is DEVEOPED BY EA recently? Maybe we should check who develops the game before buying something from EA.

I've never seen EA listen to the fans. Why should they? People still buy their games even after they never fix any flaws in their games. A good example would be the whole "Sims" thing. Everyone wants a direct port of the computer game on their consol/handheld but they just keep bringing whatever they feel like.

What would YOU do if you made games and you got so big that everyone would buy your games no matter how crappy they are? Would you spend a lot of money on research and development, customer support, gathering costumer opinions and putting them to good use, take maybe more than a year to polish your game and get it perfect, and give 'em the best you got... OR would you spend a few bucks taking last year's game and adding a couple of new features while having an updated roster and sell it for a new game's price FOR A HUGE PROFIT??? come on. lol

The Nba liv e 07 is great, I have played 2k7 an was instantly turned off by the graphics. Live 07 graphics are top notch, 2k7 can't match at all. I agree players should not be able to dunk threw the back board as far as nba live but players should not look like corpse as they do in NK7. Game play for live 07 is for grown ups who really understands basketball, NK7 is for a younger gamer, it's much easier and doesn't require much knowledge or skill. Bottom line two different games for two different age groups!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
There really is no NBA simulation alternative to the EA series. Recently some other gaming companies have tried to emulate the Live franchise sucess but it cant be done. Its almost a monopoly. I have Live for PC and it is much harder than last years. I can overlook glitches because I wouldnt waste money on any other game.
this game really sucks,big time! first of all, the player graphics are too small (very much similar to NBA live of the 90's) and commentary is so robotic and lame. The biggest flaws are the contacts between players, shooting, dribbling, and the dunks are so impossible, to the point that some players get to dunk without touching the rim.damn! EA is a stupid company, not listening to what the market really wants. hope ea losses the competition. its the only way they'll learn.
