Does it show up on ure connection list all the time??
I noticed at home and in town I always get a server that is incripted but only has like 15 - 30% connectivity.
Is that definitly T-Mobile?

A normal wireless access point will only be accessable in close proximity to its transmitter (no more than a block away from it using a PSP alone). Although, when you go into your network settings you will see every access point that you have ever input and saved into your settings, you will only be able to actually connect to them when you are inside the store or business where the access point's antenna (transmitter) is located.
Depending on where you live, the one "server" or access point that you see around town could either be a large scale network (like the city wide wireless networks popping up in big cities across the country see Philadelphia) or a bunch of smaller networks belonging to businesses. Either way they are probably going to be WPA encrypted so you can't use them.
If an access point is operated by T-Mobile you will usually be able to tell this because the Name of the network (its SSID) is going to have T-Mobile or some variation in it.
To get T-Mobile WiFi service (I think) starts at around $40 per month.
If you are seeing or detecting a wireless access point in your home and you don't have a router set up, you are most likely seeing your neighbors connection. If he has it encrypted with WPA or even WAP encryption you probably wont be able to use it.
Hope that helps.

I love it when people take ime to provide info in that manner.
Looks like T-Mobile isn't avaliable in my area according to thier site. I checked the zipcodes of the city and none were listed.
Still who wan't to pay $40 just to drive to one of the few hot spots of t-mobile anyway.
This shouldn't even be posted here IMO... Lol
Thanks of rthe info though Vargusvictor I apreciate it!

I am guessing this works for PSP other wise it wouldn't be here.
Correct???
It does work, you just need to make sure the network connection is adjusted a bit. You have to go to Custom when it says "Address Settings"
IP Address Setting:
Automatic
DNS Settings:
Automatic
Proxy Server:
Do Not Use
Internet Browser(this one is important):
Start.
By telling it to Start it will load the login page for the T-Mobile site. You won't be able to get Internets without it
The process is simple(from the FAQ on site):
2. How do I access Free Weekends?
To get free Wi-Fi access on the weekends launch your web browser from any nationwide T-Mobile HotSpot location, click the Free Weekends link on the login page, and submit your valid 10-digit T-Mobile phone number on the Free Weekends Web page. In a few moments you will receive a free text message on your T-Mobile phone containing a 6-digit pass code. Simply enter this pass code on the Free Weekends Web page and you'll be automatically connected to the Internet, just as if you were a paying customer. View Free Weekends overview page.

It's $20 to add on T-Mobile Internet to my account, not that I need it with my sidekick. The thing is T-Mobile has Hot Spots in good locations(Just maybe not in your area). Around here(and many places) they are at Starbucks, FedEx-Kinkos, and Borders just to name a few places.
