Format media for your PlayStation: PS3 Video 9 |

For PS3-loving gamers without any technical knowledge of video formats, this is some rather good news. Simply put, there's now an app that will let you change the format of videos into the ones used by Sony's PlayStation 3.
Red Kawa is a new company that just opened up shop this month, but they're offering an app meant for something a lot of people don't have yet. That's a lot of preparation right there. This new video formatting programmed is called the PS3 Video 9, and it turns the videos you have, whether they be WMV or AVI or whatnot, into your choice of the following PS3-playable formats:
- MPEG-4 SP (AAC LC)
- H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile(AAC LC)
- MPEG-1 (MPEG Audio Layer 2)
- MPEG-2 PS(MPEG2 Audio Layer 2)
- MPEG-2 TS (MPEG2 Audio Layer 2)

Probably one of the best free apps there is for video conversion, that is until people submit something here on PS3 updates.
Methinks there should be a thread on the general forums with a small petition for adding a PS3 Updates and Mods forum. :)
just run your videos in linux....
this app is just for the "normal" video player of the ps3.
but with linux, you can install the codec you want!
this is not useless! maybe someone wants to use the xmb player! this is the only ps3 video converter (yet), and they dont need bs from people like you
converting videos through linux on your PS3 and not having to on your PC and then copy them across....
i thought the ps3 supported mp4 and such... what formats DOES the ps3 support then?
