Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 2 coming to PAL regions in February

Final Fantasy 1 & 2: 20th Anniversary Edition - Image 1


Following up on an earlier announcement regarding the PAL release of Final Fantasy 1 and 2: 20th Anniversary Edition, Square Enix has revealed that he PSP remakes of the first two FInal Fantasy games will be released in Europe and all PAL territories on February 8, 2008.

Square Enix president and CEO John Yamamoto had the following comment about Final Fantasy 1 and 2: 20th Anniversary Edition:

Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 2 represent the foundations of the Square Enix success story. They are the first two imaginative steps in the long and distinguished history of the Final Fantasy franchise. With these beautiful new versions, fans can now experience the origins of Final Fantasy wherever they go.


These new editions feature redrawn graphics and character art, all-new exclusive dungeons, full 16:9 widescreen visuals and an updated camera view. For a sneak peek, check out these gameplay videos and screenshots.

They sure took their time to release this outside of Japan and the states. I'm sure anyone in Europe who actually wanted to play these has already done so through less legitimate means of obtaining current games.

I'm assuming the Final Fantasy 1 is the same as the previous release of FF1 by itself..........
