agito - Image 1As announced at Square Enix's recent DKS3713 event, Final Fantasy Agito XIII, previously a mobile phone exclusive is now headed the PSP's way. Details have been anything but forthcoming, however, thanks to the folks at Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, we've got an idea of what to expect.

  • The game was moved to the PSP because they couldn't wait for cellphones to get more advanced.
  • The battle will be heavy on action but still turn based. It will use an advanced version of Crisis Core's high speed ATB (Active Time Battle) system.
  • Crisis Core was 1 player, but this time there will be multiple characters in the party.
  • Right now it supports Infrastructure multiplayer for up to 3 players.
  • The game will support both Ad-hoc and Infrastructure.
  • Summons are part of the character growth system, and can also be controlled by players after summoning.

Thanks to duckroll for the translation.

Dear Square Enix, please keep schooling other developers in the art of PSP coding.

Sincerely,

Chris.

» holy God

I game with features WORTH purchasing!? I thought it'd never happen again! This game will deserve a buy. We have to show Sony that it's only worth it to buy QUALITY software titles like this one.

» yep

They got me at "It will use an advanced version of Crisis Core's high speed ATB (Active Time Battle) system." and "this time there will be multiple characters in the party."

Sounds like it could be the PSP's answer to FFXII (no typo), Awesome.

» yeah.. (sarcasm alert)

Because there hasn't been any games on the PSP by Sony or any other company that have been any good other than what Square-Enix released.

Don't be such a fanboy. Crisis Core is, at most, decent. There are many other games that are so much more deserving.

Other than that. I am sortof interested in this game now.

Woah, calm down their guy. I didn't say anything about Squenix being the only group to release quality games.

I was merely saying that this game offers a valuable feature absent from many games that would immediately increase their replayability and 'OMFG I NEED TO BUY THIS' effect. Multiplayer, and none of that crappy Ad-hoc multiplayer, I mean Infrastructure.

Also, I've only momentarily played Crisis Core. I'm still on FF7. Where the hell did you get that from? I know I didn't imply about or make a reference to any other game or company.

ABANDON SHIP!

» Good point. I think the same thing.

But if you like (japanese) anime and the stories of final fantasy then crisis core is the way to go. It's like an anime but you take over some of the fight scenes.

» uhhh

1. Did you try it on hard mode

2. Did you try facing Ifrit on hard mode

3. you can dodge

4. you can try to get them to charge at you and attack from behind

5. many different attacks can be made from materia

6. healing takes the right timing

etc etc
