Electronic Arts is most certainly proud to announce today the record-breaking launch of the latest iteration in the FIFA videogame franchise, FIFA 10 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2 and PC). In its first week alone, said title has earned over 1.7 million copies throughout European retail.

FIFA 10's launch is now being heralded as EA's biggest European launch in history. EA Sports president, Peter Moore, said, "We were confident that FIFA 10 would be a hit, and this week fans across Europe have shown just how much they love this game. We are incredibly proud of FIFA 10 and this kick-off for great, authentic football competition."

FIFA 10 will be crossing over to North America on October 20, 2009.

A game that comes out every year, still sells way better nearly all other games? Maybe I'm missing something cos I hate football but it still seems crazy. Isn't there only so much you can do with a football game? Better AI I can understand, but what else? More realistic blades of grass on the pitch?
