And you thought that the character roster for Dissidia was over? Ha! Not by a long shot, if you consider the non-main characters! The hero and villain rosters may be complete for those coming from FF to FFX. Today, the question of whether we'll be seeing other icons from other FF games is answered. First up: Final Fantasy XI represent! Handheld brawlers-in-waiting, I introduce to you: Shantotto!
The new character to be included in Dissidia: Final Fantasy was actually confirmed during Square Enix's FFXI Fan Festival in Japan today. Apparently, the event's organizers and hosts were excited enough to bring some PSP news to the MMO crowd in front of them.
Chances are, your same expression of "Huh? Who the hell's Shantotto?" was reflected in the MMO gamers' faces with "Huh? What the hell's Dissidia?" Either way, there you have it. Because not all PSP fans are MMO gamers (myself included), here are some facts you should know about Shantotto:
- She's a renowned(?) black mage in Vana'diel
- She's 2-feet tall
- She's both considered a hero and villain
- She's got a signature evil laugh, ho ho ho ho!
Other interesting trivia: the actress voicing Shantotto in Dissidia (obviously, the Japanese version) will be Magumi Hayashibara. If you're an otaku, you'll probably remember her as the one who voiced Rei Ayanami in Evangelion and Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop.

Even though those are the ones I want to see most, I'd also like to see all the main characters from FF4-10 and FF10-2(FF10-2 also listed because of Paine.)

From the time I played a newbie Tarutaru healer/cook in FFXI, Shantoto always was the terror of my natal Windurst.
She usually asigned us 'tarus/mithras with the scariest of jobs and she made me go into a long trip/exile to Sand'Oria... =-.-;= One of the legends I heard about her was that the first words she said as a baby set her village on fire... literally. =o.o;=
In other words: AWESOME! XD I am SO preordering that game now! XD
