Aww poo. And I was holding out for Kain! Oh well, I guess Cecil ain't bad either - considering that we still get to play his Dark Knight job class and not just his pansy Paladin/Light Warrior class. (I'm just not sure which is accessible on EX mode though - probably Dark Knight.)

Yes, yes, Cecil Harvey is now confirmed for Square Enix's Dissidia: Final Fantasy as the prime hero representative from Final Fantasy IV. With Golbez already confirmed previously, this shouldn't come as a surprise - I myself took note of this while writing the article on Dissecting Dissidia (even before Golbez was official, mind you).

Having Cecil as the antithesis to Golbez would be perfect. For those who played the original FF4 game on the SNES, and/or the DS remake, would know that Cecil and Golbez have a rather interesting relationship with each other. Sorry, guys, no spoilers.

Aaanyways, check out the Shonen Jump scans. It also finally confirms the exact Japanese release date, December 18, 2008. If some of you missed last week's report (link below), Sony's already confirmed a PSP-3000 DIssidia bundle that goes for JPÂ¥ 25,890 (US$ 240) for that same date.

Paladin too

It seems Cecil will have the ability to change to Paladin in the game as well. As the Onion Knight appears to be able to change classes as well. (Likely Bartz from FFV as too.)
