FF Tactics: The Lion War's technical issues minimized in U.S. version |
Ó
Sony PSP owners awaiting the release of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War in the U.S. will be happy to know that much of the technical issues reported from the Japanese release have been fixed in the American version due out soon. This comes in the aftermath of much whining and moaning over the Japanese iteration's rampant slowdown that plagued the experience, marring what would have been another masterpiece.
Hiccups and crawls were observed in the previous offering, especially during spell-casting, but Square Enix says most of it is gone now. More features were also added for a richer experience.
The pace of the action is now in acceptable levels, reports 1UP, but the sound quality of Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata's score still doesn't pack the same oomph that the original PlayStation version had.
Still, there's no doubt that the voice-overs in the animated sequences are a killer addition which should add a lot more personality to an already involving cast.
Two new job classes, the Onion Knight and the Dark Knight have also been added for more gameplay depth. Whether or not some classes have been nerfed remains to be seen.

yay
Congrats "da man" a first comment you must have a great life ;). Poor Japs get a broken game, lets hope they get a patch since final fantasy games are loved over there.
Its great news....but in all honesty, there should be NO lag whatsoever. I know this is more than possible. There is no reason of the change of sounds either. This is Square-Enix just doing a rush job to make a quick buck. Don't tell me that Crisis Core is going to run without lag if they can't even get tactics running perfectly...or maybe they are actually trying with Crisis Core unlike this game. I won't be buying a game where the developers didn't even care about the release to begin with...and this shows by how bad the lag was when it came out in Japan.
Don't worry, Japan will be the testing ground for Crisis Core as well. Then once all the bugs are fixed they'll release it everywhere else.
That is the blessing and the curse of coming in FIRST in getting these titles. Yes, you get the game before everyone else, but you also get the missed bugs and all. Proud to be in the US right now!
I'm tired of hearing people ***** about every little thing... If you don't like it don't buy the game simple as that...No one is making you buy it...Your not the developer so how do you know weather they care or not...Be happy that even took the time to at least fix the lag issues to begin with...
So they release a beta game in Japan with obvious problems and then act like heroes when they fix what they should have fixed in the first place. They sound just like Ps3lamers.
So they fixed the lag, which is insanely great. Now we need a fix for the sound reverb issues and this game will be perfect. In all honesty, I'm happy they took the time to at least remove the slowdown. That means they earned some small inkling of respect, which will be worth my money now.
I'm definitely getting this when it comes out. My favorite game just got a ton better. Thank you Square!!
suck big fat floppy donkey *****s!
