"Give 'em back!" says Electro Source LLC, "Good riddance!" shouts consumers back.About 231,000 Electro Source LLC's Pelican Power Brick Battery Chargers are being pulled out of the market because of the charger's circuit board tendency to overheat causing its plastic cover to melt, making it a potential fire and burn cause according to an NBC report. Pelican Power Brick is an external recharging battery pack that retails as a separate accessory to be used with the Sony PSP.
The batteries' manufacturer has been plauged by users' complaints due to its overheating, one of which actually caused a fire. Although no injuries has been yet reported, Electro Source LLC has decided to recall the distributed chargers to avoid further damage.
Sold at electronics and discount department stores nationwide, even in catalogs and various websites from April 2005 through March this year, the charger is priced at a hefty $20 to $50 depending on whether sold alone or as part of certain kits packaged by the culprit, I mean, Electro Source LLC. Consumers are now advised to stop using the battery charger immediately and contact the manufacturer to receive a choice of several replacement products. Consumers are also asked to pray that the replacements don't burn this time.
By the way, I just received a personal call from Bin Laden that the overheating battery chargers is a part of Al Quiada's ploy to spread terrorism.
