Here's Mana-Khemia: Gakuen no Renkinjutsu Shitachi - Image 1For people who keep up with the times and want to know what's hot in Japan, here's the latest Famitsu Weekly Most Wanted list. Last week, Halo 3 somehow got up to the challenge in the land of the rising sun. This Xbox western favorite dropped, and newcomer  Mana-Khemia: Gakuen no Renkinjutsu Shitachi took its former 20th spot.

Gust games don't receive much success in North American territories, so it's only natural that the rest of the world have no idea about their new game that entered the list. Fortunately, they ship some titles outside their homeland and we can hope that this 9th installment of the Atelier Iris franchise reach the shores too.

Aside from the staple top eight, the other games are still shuffling around the list. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII took a huge leap to 9th place, while Animal Crossing for the Wii climbed down a few steps to 16.

Check the list out for yourself, below:
  1. Dragon Quest IX (DS, Square Enix)
  2. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Square Enix)
  3. Biohazard 5 (PS3, Capcom)
  4. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3, Konami)
  5. Monster Hunter 3 (PS3, capcom)
  6. Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (Wii, Square Enix)
  7. Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations (PS2, Banpresto)
  8. Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS, Nintendo)
  9. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP, Square Enix)
  10. Everybody's Golf 5 (PS3, Sony)
  11. Devil May Cry 4 (PS3, Capcom)
  12. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii, Nintendo)
  13. Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3, Square Enix)
  14. Lost Odyssey (Xbox 360, Microsoft)
  15. Harvest Moon: It's a Wonderful World (DS, Square Enix)
  16. Animal Crossing (Wii, Nintendo)
  17. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3, Sony)
  18. Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume (Xbox 360, Bandai Namco)
  19. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii, Nintendo)
  20. Mana-Khemia: Gakuen no Renkinjutsu Shitachi (PS2, Gust)

As much as I shouldnt be saying this, I think the xbox 360 is officially dead in japan.

» Nope

No its not a typo the 20th game on the list which knocked halo out is a gust title. Its develpoer is gust.

by rob the ***** - 2007-06-12 00:27
» halo

it would probabaly sell if they called it : Master Chief Halo Warrior Sword Complex: Battle For All 3

at least then they would understand the title

» YEs you should NOT say because you no nothing really do you

As much as I shouldnt say this the PS3 is also officially dead in Japan under your attitude i.e-

Wii - 161,062

360 - 9,082

PS3 - 4,004

PS3 is selling terrible and last in software sales now hardware per week -

Wii - 74,164 (+22%)

PS3 - 9,654 (-3%)

360 - 2,628 (+4%)

As you see the Wii is wiping out bot the other consoles and as its Japan you are talking about I would say the only system looking dead is the PS3 so instead of stirring try looking up some facts first..

As much as I shouldnt be saying this, I think the PS3 is officially dead in USA.

by datnizzle - 2007-06-12 02:47
» ?

Sony is losing in Japan, the 360 is dead. In america the ps3 is losing, but none of them are dead. In japan the ps3 outsells the 360 by over 3 to 1 yet the ps3 is dead? Add to that that ff13 and mgs4 are bigger in japan than in the states, I'd have to say Sony is fine in Japan. Maybe you shoulnd't post numbers if you don't understand them.

» Good ole Ps3

I'd be waiting for this Fall on the Ps3. It's going to be huge! Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, and a batch of others that'll really make it stand hands and shoulders above the competition. :)

by Datnizzle - 2007-06-12 02:50
» It would sell if....

It were more than your average FPS.

» MISLEADING TITLE

the title will make people to believe that halo 3 is leading here in japan, it is NOT. upon seeing the title i was just suppose to comment that xbox 360 and halo 3 dont make japanese drool, in fact most xbox 360 hardware sales here are just for export to foreign countries because xbox 360 is cheap here.

but no this article wants to sound like Halo 3 is a most wanted title here in japan, no no no.

btw look at the list, PS3 games makes 8 out of 20.

by KUYA - 2007-06-12 03:28
» like his name

he is a FOOL after all.

if the ps3 is dead why would game companies release games for it?

i see 8 ps3 titles above (though not all exclusive)

7 of em are third parties meaning non sony game companies releasing games for PS3 and heck those are the finest AAA titles from ps1 and ps2 generations, a grand slam is inevitable.

as long as sony survives in japan, we japanese gamers will have AAA titles to play. sony losing in other territories is not our problem, it is yours because you will be limited to those xbox 360 games that are practically PC ports and arcade rehashes.

» Whatever fool

Better wake up out that dream some them titles you mentioned gettin pused back to 08 plus the 360 has better games this fall then those

by hahahaha - 2007-06-12 04:00
» why cant you guys wait

look at the top 5 games on the list, and thats only in japan. 360 isnt dead in japan. ps3 isnt dead in the US.

if the PS3 continues to do 4,000 in japan AFTER FFXIII and MGS4, and all those other games on hte list....then it is dead. same goes with 360 with halo3 and lost odyssey.

Ok. look at the games. 8 of 20. Great. Now look at the PS3 console sales.. Hmm. Is that the Wii outselling it3 to 1? I do believe it is.

by rd261 - 2007-06-12 04:33
» yeah just because its much cheaper

A console cannot sell well without having good games. I mean the wii has 4 titles on the list and in my opinion the only good ones are smash bros and mario galaxy. Now if Sony wouldnt had been that dum and would had released a stripped down version of the ps3 without hdd and a smaller hard drive for just 300 bucks the story would had been very different. Why is the DS beating the PSP? Because it has many more games in that list than the psp. The same would happen with the ps3 if it was cheaper.

by Carter - 2007-06-12 08:38
» Re: rd261

But its not cheaper. Therefore your arguement becomes moot.

by Zack - 2007-06-12 08:45
» How about you go F.U.C.K yourself .

Shut the F.U.C.K up you piece of S.H.I.T. That short list of games I said are going to be awesome and will help sell more PS3 consoles here and in Japan. You're just an Xbot who is in love with Bill Gates so therefore your opinion is moot. How about you go play that XboxS.H.I.T60 of yours and shut the F.U.C.K up like a good little Xbot.

Yeah. tell that Xbot fan. Xbox 360 sucks. Long live the Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii.

by zeromatrix - 2007-06-12 16:42

Long live x360 and PS3. F*** the Wii. Just port over Smash Bros and Zelda then all's well.

» dorgad

Nintendo is ruining the gaming image with the wii appealing to non gamers. games for the wii hardly have any depth at all, wii needs to die. and once ffxiii and every other great rpg for 360 and ps3 comes out it will die.

even if ffvii gets remade the wii is pretty much dead.
