Comments [refresh]
Japanese gamers and retailers expect Sony sales to be high but then at the same time say that they will be mainly purchasing Nintendo.
Another way to look at this is "Who really cares what Japan does?". Seriously, even Japan doesn't care how Japan does. They are looking towards the West and following our sales trends. Even Square is touting "No more exclusives!"
Sooo... why should we care again?

I honestly dont have the time and truly replying to this comment I'm pretty sure SOME one will I have Home to get into I'm sorry I was really ganna go in with this one but I loast it past the subject.
this is news, even if you dont care someone else may!
and those are survey of different groups, outcomes may or may not match. my guess is they will purchase nintendo soft for their already owned nintendo hardwares but moreover they would want/purchase sony hardware which they haven't got yet.
and many foreigners cared about what japan does! Although not as eager anymore today than from those days way back when ONLY Japan creates Consoles and Games! Japan was the hollywood of gaming a few years ago! As of today Japan still delivers phenomenal Games such as Super Mario Galaxy, Devil May Cry 4, Ninja Gaiden, Final Fantasy series, Metal Gear Solid 4, Street Fighter 4 + Tekken 6 just to name a few!
Yea, sorry, this is a slow news week and what Japanese retailers and shoppers think -this- Christmas has little to no effect on us -this- Christmas. All the big games have come and gone and now it's time to go crazy on Black Friday. So what if some store manager thinks a game or specific console will sell well? Mom and Pop American are probably looking at getting their kid a Wii. Kids to pre-teens that have a Wii will probably trade it in to get a more affordable 360. Consumers who want hi-tech will get a PS3.
'Xis" may be a shock... er Xis... but if you are too busy to be posting, then why did you bother to tell us in broken English? Stay on topic and use spell/grammar check.
Che... yea, Japan makes great titles. That was my point, Japan is still making great titles, but with the West in mind. Capcom knows that Resident Evil will sell well in Japan just on company name and brand alone. It's the Western market they want to tap big time so they've adopted a Gears of War type camera system and co-op scheme.
All in all this article is a big waste of time but if you want to keep reading this and "Tomb Raider sells a bunch on PS3... in Europe!!" go right ahead. Anyone who follows trends knows that the Eurpoean market is owned by Sony for the most part and is more of a big deal if Microsoft can penetrate that. Japanese thoughts on what people might buy versus what they actually buy is more of a story. I appreciate that it's on 360 QJ but seriously, more actual numbers on a relevent topic would have been nicer. Guess I'm just tired of reading "This is what a group of people think will happen in the gaming industry" only to find out they were dead wrong. How many articles have we read about such and such financial group or self important business man predicting this or that for Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo? Seriously... this isn't news.
