If you thought we've heard the last of Erik Estavillo a.k.a. the banned Resistance player
and lawsuit spammer, then you thought wrong my friends. The latest
development in his string of legal proceedings brings another big name
into the mix. To further his case against Microsoft and the RROD, not
just anyone would do - not Major Nelson, not Don Mattrick, not Steve
Ballmer - he goes straight up to the big cheese himself: Bill Gates.Estavillo subpoenas Gates, instructing the Microsoft chief to provide “documents pertaining to the true and relative number of actual Xbox 360 units that have been fixed by Microsoft over the past 3 years.” In addition, Estavillo also wants statistical data and documents on all reported cases of hardware failure (including RROD) and bannings due to piracy that have occurred from November 28th, 2008 to November 29th, 2009.
Gamepolitics had to ask, and you all might be curious too, as to the basis of his next lawsuit. Estavillo replies that he no longer has any plans of suing another company and they can "quote him on that."

If he spent millions on a house which can smell sweat and check if your pissed off, he won't mind spending billions on owning your ass. Dude his bank statement has more zeros than your phone number.
He would probably appeal to the charges in several states and in other countries. How will you back yourself against the whole world of courts, against you and a lawyer from Main Street.
If the chances are 0.0000000001% for winning a court case against, why try? Trust me, lady luck is a *****.

His other crap is just insane. Too bad, too. That hurts the chances of a legitimate look into the RROD numbers. :(

Erik: "Why are your consoles so crappy?"
Bill Gates: "They aren't crappy. You are just a hacker, pirate SOB."
It would almost be a stupid person to bring in.

I know I take it too seriously, but I would like to know what was not liked about my comment. Idiots, whoever did it...

For all seriousness Microsoft did spend a crapload of money to rectify this (Jasper and Falcon). But still failed. Its not their goddamn fault that we overplay the console....
Did i seriously back MS just then.......That's a first.....

In all "fairness" they did not fix it. The system was rushed to the market before it was properly tested.
Its not their fault!??! WTF!? That's like saying that Ken Lay wasn't responsible for Enron's skulduggery antics.
How do you brush your teeth without stabbing yourself in the eye... seriously.

If Gates hires 100 lawyers then that's great. If he hires 1000 lawyers, that's even better.
See Bill.
See Bill spend.
Spend Bill spend.

But I don't know how anyone can not like the idea of MS getting looked at over RROD. :\
I mean, go ahead and like MS, but don't let them get away with this.
I think I am going to but a 360 because it is cheaper than a PS3, but I have some big problems doing so. Every 360 I played had RROD'd at one time or another. I am 100% serious.
I only played my cousin's, which RROD'd once. But I also have my sister's husband's sister (sister in-law?) to look to. They bought one, played it, put it up for Christmas. They opened it up, it didn't work, RROD.
Then, my brother's friend has on AT HIS HOUSE RIGHT NOW that is still suffering from RROD. I think I can fix it, as I have some thermal paste....
Come to think of it, I should tell him and charge him like $50....
This changes everything. Thanks, MS. I have a $$$ making opportunity.

All consoles have their problems, the wii with its bricking with updates, the PS3 with it's random problem where it stops reading blue ray disks! And yes, the Xbox with its RRoD.
Luckily, I have managed to avoid said problems with both my Wii and Xbox

If Microsoft Windows' users can claim US$1 for every time their computers hang because of Microsoft Windows, Bill Gates will be bankrupted in 3 years. And Windows hangs alot!
If he drops a thousand dollars, he won%u2019t even bother to pick it up because the 4 seconds he takes to bend over and pick it up, he would%u2019ve already earned it back.
Bill Gates earns $250 every second; that%u2019s about $20 million a day and $7.8 billion a year.
Make my point clear? He wouldn't care if he spent all of his cash on Tellytubbies. He would make it back eventually. And this insanely rich *BEEP* spends his time going round the world and giving money to charity (which is a good thing).
And time isn't really a issue when hes on his Windows Powered Jet and making a live video call from it.

They rushed the release so the potential userbase can get theirs before the PS3. This new userbase became the Fanboys we know of today.
"In all "fairness" they did not fix it. The system was rushed to the market before it was properly tested"
If you read my sentence clearly it said they did spend money onto fixing it but failed anyways, its Microsoft remember.....
"Its not their fault!??! WTF!? That's like saying that Ken Lay wasn't responsible for Enron's skulduggery antics."
Well its kinda both their fault and not there fault. It is their fault on where the product didn't go through proper testing.
But they were pressurized into releasing ASAP(Before Wii and PS3, NO MATTER WHAT) because they couldn't handle a first day failure.
If they did release X360 in the same time window as PS3 i think the "Console Wars" numbers would be quite different. And the X360 wouldn't be basking in the glory it is now.
If the X360 userbase waited a few months a PS3 would've been available with no apparent problem at that time(YLOD was discovered a year after release).

It's because the recession. The tech industry wasn't hit as hard as others, and Warren had some investments in some hard-hit areas.
