EA's Q2 profits tumble by 57% |

It was the financial thud that was heard around the video gaming world. Electronic Arts, the world's biggest video game publisher, reported its second quarter net earnings went skydiving without a parachute and fell a full 57%. Last year, the company earned US$51 million over the same period. This year's Q2: US$22 million.Ironically, EA's revenues went up by 16% to US$784 million over last year's total of $675 million. The company credited its hot sellers for bringing in the cash, among them Madden NFL 07, NCAA Football 07, FIFA 07 and its other sports title. The company also reported its NCAA Football 07 sold all-time high of 2 million copies in the said quarter.
EA isn't crying all the way to the bank, though. They predict revenues between US$1.2 billion and US$1.3 billion by March 31, 2007.

EA sucks!!!
Let the bastards feel that publishing year after year the same games with no innovation doesnt pay off in the end! When you milk the people, you get whet hands! Maybe they will change their strategy now and come up with something fresh, not the same games with one or two additional features (fifa 89,90,91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007 anyone?)
Not like the rules of soccer, football, hockey, or any other sports game change that much every year.
On the other hand, got to give them some credit for their business-model of selling the same games over and over again each year.
STFU. EA Rules. I never would have had NfS hot pursuit without them. Same goes for actual *good* NFL and NHL games. NHL 2007 owns NHL 2K7.

What about the virtual stick in NHL2007? Fifa 07 was also surprisngly good this year, too. Kinda sad that the year they start to get their act together just a little bit, their profiles tumble so much. Oh well. It's not like upwards of $20 is chump change. That's still a succesful year.
EA is *****house. I'm not surprised by their fall in profits. All their games are just the same with no innovation. Not only this, alot of their games (this includes PC and console) has many bugs and flaws. eg. BF2, bf2042, nba, rugby are just a few of their games that are riddled with bugs and flaws that would really only qualify them as BETA and not final games.
^Undercover EA employee. I agree, Madden 07 just doesn't PLAY as realistically as it should, and a big part is the sub-par AI. I'd trade better graphics for better AI and game mechanics in next year's installment.
Its been a while since a major corporation got what was coming to them for what they have done to the customer. They stupid registering requirements and other troubles just to use their products. First time for me saying this, but I hope Sony gets theirs next. (I love NFS and my psp, but I would would love to be able to tell them off myself for making such large mistakes all because they don't tend to consider who they really work for)
they should make the ps offering as good as the console not stripped down versions that no one wants.

EA is great at sports, I will admit that. Evil with licensing, but great at sports. Everything else they do blows hard though, and I genuinely hope their business fails because of it.

It is pointless for every year for EA to sell a a game like Madden yearly based. Honestly there is no way the developers of EA Sports can add anything new unless they develop the game for more than 2 or 3 years. So then guys who agrees that all EA sports should be released every two or three years? Instead of 08, it would 09, then 11, then 13, etc. Better quality in my opinion.
