EA makes more money on mobile games than PSP and PS3

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter may have predicted that the big winner for this year's holiday season will be Electronic Arts, and EA indeed managed to net a good US$ 640 million in revenue. However, there's a strange tidbit that should be noticed in the breakdown of EA's revenue count.

Here's the breakdown of EA's sales for the third quarter of 2007:

Xbox 360 - US$ 218 million
PlayStation 2 - US4 73 million
Wii - US$ 59 million
DS - US$ 47 million
Mobile - US$ 37 million
PSP - US$ 21 million
PS3 - US$ 17 million

In case you haven't noticed, the much-understated and less-hyped mobile platform managed to generate almost as much as the PSP and PS3's combined sales numbers for Electronic Arts. It's quite a revelation, and it proves that the mobile as a gaming platform is also a lucrative option. This means that we may possibly see more and games for the mobile platform in the near future.

EA isn't what it was in the past... making a crap of good franshise games ( NFS just to name one) and making just small add ons in each year in the sports games and making crap port in the PS3 thats for sure. Making not only a bad boxing game but they don't add more boxers and in the ps3 again, another crap port. I really want a good boxing game not made it by EA. This year is the year of activision.

Please stop talking your embarassing yourself !! The reason why they dont make much money out of the ps3 is because the have the worst ports out there!

You have to be really stupid to buy an EA ps3 game knowing what you'll get...

Your just as Capcom, making $hitty ports left and right for the PS3, hopefully DMC4 won't be in the mix of ports.

The only game i actually considered good from EA this year is NHL 08 its really awesome, still would have liked some more things but meh.

Your seriously on drugs. I mean Have you seen these games at all: Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Lair, CoD4, NGS, Folklore, UT3. Those are some awesome games. There not bad, and really shows what the PS3 can do and yet you sit and bash it, EA is a disgrace to the gaming industry.

They just know who to target...

Redneck Sports gamers who are not quite intelligent

enough to learn how to download pirated games.

Every year, NFL, NHL, NBA, FIFA is a sure sale.

EA is only capable of generating profit off these

repetative anual sports games.

Only reason sony sales are down is because of the pirating going on. You don't even need to find a hidden asian store to get a hold of them anymore.

They're everywhere on the internet!!

For example, I do not know a single psp owner who doesn't have a custom firmware installed. And every single PS / PS2 are modded! Nintendo aren't better in terms of game play, Sony is!!!

Sony has a much greater selection of games than any other company on this planet. Their choice of a common storage media is the only reason why their sales are down...

Open your eyes people, these numbers and statistics do not mean anything!
