PSP Slim rainbow - Image 1Looks like Europe gets first dibs on the highly awaited PSP slim. David Reeves, CEO of SCEE, has announced during their E3 event that the PSP "will come out at 169 Euros in all the PAL territories at the beginning of September." The unit will be priced at €169. Meanwhile, Japan will be seeing (PSP) rainbows on September 20 with a pricetag of US$ 162.

The new lighter, slimmer version is expected to be available in three colors for the Western hemisphere, while Japan will get three extra colors. Europe will get the classics - Piano Black, Ceramic White and Ice Silver - while Japan will also get Rose Pink, Lavender Purple and Felicia Blue. Gotta catch 'em all.

» Who Cares?

» ...

actually that's not a bad price. i MAY get one. when i got my psp value pack it was £180.

by Exodium - 2007-07-21 06:35
» why?

i dont get the people that are moaning about the slim line that is doesnt have a 2nd analog stick, iff it would have a 2nd analog stick it wouldnt be a revised psp, it would be called the psp 2, and why are they moaning about the video out? ok the games might not look to good on your hd screens, so dont ask for an hd out cause the games arent made for hd! and besides, ever heard of umd video's or photos on ur psp? people are so ignorant if it should come to the things only they want. in fact i really dont know why they have a psp, to nag about the graphics? please keep ur mouths shut then :)

oh ans the loading times are have almost doubled so no complaints here:)

i' d love to buy the Star Wars edition,

PSP SLIM -- this makes me laugh its retarded and they just want stupid people to buy it so they cant put homebrew on it, but no one that pays attention to the psp scene will get this thing once they hack it , it may be worth it but comon, is your psp reallly that heavy for ya?

» 2 b honest....

has anyone ever wondered why pspupdates.qj.net is the leading psp homebrew site and sony havent even attempted to shut it down for supplying files?

or perhaps the reason why sony have a link to this site with a logo and said it would be deleted but never was?

or perhaps how there firmware releases keep having obvious and findable glitch's in them like no other and in one firmware they unpatched an exploit and then repatched it again when it was re-discovered???

i think there is a summary coming up here:

in my opinion pspupdates is created by sony and sony keep unpatching and making exploit possiblilitys on purpose...

think about it for a second before you turn this down, take a look at this first:

1)Sony creates the new port console psp

2)Sony releases psp 1.00 with easy to find exploits

3)people begin to find out and create some little homebrew applications

4)sony discover (there own) exploit and create a new version with it patched

5)little community gets angry and finds a new exploit once again made by sony

6)psp fw updates are halted for a while and homebrew and emulators begin to be made along with fw hacks...

7)sony patch up twice more and they notice there firmware is not bieng hacked whatsoever, comm unity fails to increase in size.

8)Psp debut release to the rest of the world and sony kick off the begining of the psp with......a new exploit hole.... ZOMFG???

9)homebrew community find the glitch and homebrew begins to expand as people code gbc,gb,snes emulators as well as hit hb titles as smashgpsp.

10)sony realizes that the homebrew community is expanding and make some newer versions namingly 2.01-2.50-2.60

11)No hacks are found as of yet but whats this??? A GLITCH IS FOUND IN THE MOST BOUGHT GAME SO FAR???? wow and sony definatly didnt have nothing to do with that.....

12)Sony bieng as they are do there best to hide the homebrew community by placing a link to pspupdates on one of there sites.

13)sony claims this is an accident and says they will remove (july 2006)

14)july 2007 sony still fail to remove the link....oh by the way did i forget to mention the site where the link to pspupdates is is on the instruction manual of the psp???

::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::: :::::

i think you can see the pattern and if you dont then you are foolish.

think what you think but i think there is something going on here and that timeline reveals it....

» LOL

HAHA people and there conspiracy theories...Think for a second. Homebrew does not benefit $ony. Game sales benefit sony. homebrew allows piracy which hurts these sales.

by Psythik - 2007-07-21 19:58
» Yes but...

...Hombrew increases system sales. The main reason why I bought my PSP was for homebrew, and I'm sure that is the case with others.

by Newbert - 2007-07-31 10:21
» Thats why i bought mine

I got mine for homebrew, like you said. And the big wigs from Sony themselves said that they enjoy and promote the homebrew community, but only don't allow it in their hardware is because of the fear of hackers.

» Ha...

Slim sucks.

Half the battery life (about 5 hours nows) is a MAJOR kicker.

Removed the IR? WTF... defly not getting as psp revision

Still useing that *****ty ass UMD insted of going the smart way?

flash memory was the way to go from the start of psp. But sony ONLY WANTS MONEY. PERIOD. It's why they keep tryign to force ppl into Useing these Limitations to THEY'RE copyrighted disc (which NOTHING else uses..universal my ass) this psp revision is crap.

all these things will be added on pssp2, so to buy that Slim, is nonsense. think about how soon it already came out....psp2 wont be to far ...sont cant help them self, they've seen apple. oh and nintendo atleast DID try to make theyre light version better. all around. sony's an *****. PERIOD. i only buy theye crappy ***** cuz i have no other options. if i wanted PS1 on the go and movies full res, N64, and the few good psp games.
