E3 2009: PSP Go video walkthrough and details |
Ó
If you're still waiting for the video to load (or you just don't wanna watch it), here are a few PSP Go facts:
- The most portable PSP ever, PSP go is more than 50 percent smaller and more than 40 percent lighter than the original PSP we launched in 2005
- A stylish sliding screen maintains the high resolution and vibrant visuals of the PSP-3000
- Replacing the UMD drive is 16GB of internal flash memory to store plenty of games, videos, music, and photos
- Memory Stick Micro slot offers expandable storage up to 16GB
- Bluetooth support
- Launch date is October 1
The one thing I'm concerned about -- and I know a lot of you are too -- is what are we going to do with our old UMD games if we ever decide to splurge on the Go? Sadly, Sony still hasn't laid down any official announcements about it, apart from saying that they will "remain committed to the UMD format". Oh, and the price! US$ 249 is just a bit too high for me.
Well, what do you guys think? Sound off in the comments section.

The PSP Go aka Eric Cartman PSP looks good..!
It sure is attractive because of it's size and the portability, but...
Still looks very ugly when you slide it up.
so on top of not being able to use my UMDs you expect me to go buy all new memory sticks if 16gb just isnt enough? definitely not picking this up such a waste of time
Ok, I like the approach Sony is taking, adding new features to it, like Bluetooth, built in memory, slidescreen, portablity, etc. But here are problems Sony are not thinking through well enough:
1. What about our UMDs!!! Are you going to somehow make it so we can get the games on that PSP Digitally if we were to get it?
2. Placement of the Joystick is just not great. How the hell are you going to be able to play efficiently if the placement of the buttons do not work in your favor?
3. New MS? Why would anyone with a PSP invest in getting a new MS Micro?
As many of you know, they are going for portability and stuff, but still, many things have not been thought through. Don't get me wrong, I will be buying this, but I certainly won't get rid of my PSP-2000.
hey um.....where's the USB port ?
Am I able to use the GPS-290 ? or the psp camera ?
yea... so does it mean I can't play the UMDs anymore ?
I agree the joystick is not that good..
besides the problems above, PSP GO is awesome
If your gonna jack the price up, we need some new mad features, not just increased portability and native storage.
I was really hoping for a touch matrix on this sucker.
All that video explains is that it is lighter and has more memory. Sorry but that is not a selling point since the PSP 2000 did that already. You can't do it again, this is the Slim and Lite, Slim and Lite PSP. Load f rubish, if that's the price tag screw the PSP, i'd rather an IPhone
slide it open and play a game on it?
that's all i really wanted to see...
You are a total dumbass.
1. 16gb is pretty standard flash memory.
2. It is highly unlikely you will fill all of that up unless you are a total tech whore. If you still do, just delete some of the old games you no longer play, problem solved.
3. If you STILL aren't satisfied, 4gb micro sd card can be obtained for $29.99. $19.99 if you find a good deal. You spend 249 dollars on the PSP GO i think you can spend 30 more.
Dont buy them. The price of $249 is a rip off! It is not acceptable. Dont waste your money on it!
As expected. ***** that MS Micro.
I'll still be getting one though, I'm a Tech whore.
Buy an iPhone then!!
seriously everyone here is complaining about absolute bull*****. the controlls look cramped but ARE very functional from what i have heard from those who have actually played with the unit. dont dis it untill you try it.
they have said they are looking into a way to support UMD's for those who have older systems, wether this means a legit ISO riping app for your original PSP, or what i dont know.
there will still be a usb port so all you junkies who actually bought the gpsp and cam can/should still be able to use them, this is unconfirmed at the moment.
internal 16gig mem is awesome! there is no way anyone can honestly say they will fill that up quickly.. sure put 8 games on it, some music, a few vids and it will get filled.. but you dont need to be carrying around your media center with you.. its a portable system for a reason..
hence my point is stop your *****ing.. NO ONE IS MAKING YOU BUY THIS NEW SYSTEM. makes me think back to the 2k and 3k releases, everyone *****ed about how they didnt do this and didnt do that. its simple really, if you dont want it, dont buy it!!
you can criticize all you want and say sony should have implemented this, introduced that ect ect.. the fact of the matter is... if your *****ing about it... your interested in it.. so either stop your *****ing and buy the dam unit when it comes out, or sit down, shut up and go do your homework and make your momma proud..
you my friend are a tool... get a dam iphone if you want a "touch" screen... real game consoles dont bother with such fads as touch screens...now try and tell me that the iphone has a solid game community.. common.. tell me.. ill be waiting..
I would love to see this thing get hacked on the very first week of its release haha... play some homebrew and download some games lol now this would be awesome just like the other models
lol.. and you my friend are a tool as well.. angry because you bought a 2k @ 250? im sure many people will "waste" there money on it for the 16g internal memory, the re-designed size.. and the option of having a nex-gen portable console.. so you my friend fail heavily..
THE PSP LOOKS COOL BUT THE PRICE IS TOO MUCH IS LIKE BUYING AN XBOX 360, WII, IPOD TOUCH THAT IS EXPENSISE THEY SHOULD SELL IT FOR THE MOST 200
I agree with your first two, but they obviously have thought of it - thats why they are still providing the 3000. Obviously the Go isn't for everyone (ie. gamers).
So what's your explanation for the ds which utilizes touch screen tech and is currently and previously always the leader of the portable market?
Hmmm..
Well they need to make up for the monetary loss of the ps3 somewhere..
Sony is selling this for the same price as the original PSP.
NOT the PSP 2000. smart one. If your gonna call everyone a tool, you may aswell think of a better word than that cause its not very thought out.
My only complaint is, I want the screen to be back at 4.3, not 3.8, though I do like the design, I do not love the screen, smaller than the original.
PSP was famous for its BIG 4.3 screen, heck maybe they will do another PSP GO! with 4.3 before they do PSP2.
Actually there complaining because its at the original PSP's price point, not the 2000 AKA slim and lite price point, which was 169.99-200.00.
They wanted the other PSP's to be cheaper. The way Sony thinks, if its at 250, it won't beat neither the DSI nor the Iphone/ Itouch with that pitiful price point and specs.
You are correct about one thing, touch screen, get Itouch but this is what will make Sony lose.
I don't really care. Have your fun with the device.
it doesn't support Memory stick pro duo?? WTF...16+16 GB waste???
Market leader does not equal quality.
that would be the best thing to happen
Maybe, but I don't see how the DS lacks in quality. Just because the games don't focus on graphics does not make them bad, or unpolished games. Some of us prefer the innovative gameplay the DS presents.
I know personally the last time I played my PSP was when I didn't have my DS.
The PSP is a nice little machine but I just can't agree with you that the DS is anything less in quality of product apart from the graphics hype.
I'd probably get one if they are opened up to homebrew. Either officially or non.
I honestly don't like this. If they want to make a new PSP, come up with a whole new handheld!
All they're doing is fitting the same old thing into smaller casings. What's the point of buying these anyway? They come out with a new PSP almost every year, it seems.
I still use a PSP-1000. It plays the same games, and has the same usability as PSP GO (besides a bluetooth port).
I'd like to see them come out with a completely new handheld that was stronger, faster, better, and could play, idk, let's say PS2 games. eh?
This thing is *****! The screen is smaller for one thing. It can't play UMD's. Why the heck is it so round in shape. And, what the ***** is up with the joystick placement!? Sony, you fail. I am not wasting my time buying this. I could just buy another Xbox 360 for that price. Xbox has a bigger HDD, better games, etc.
"Maybe, but I don't see how the DS lacks in quality. Just because the games don't focus on graphics "
They lack quality cause they don't focus on gameplay either.
PSP is innovative too, it's a huge improvement over the GBA and DS
Everyone keeps talking about they wished this had a touch screen...I just wish it had a second analog. I bet this would sell way more. Sony wants to be innovative and not follow the touch screen trend, thats fine with me. Name one handheld with dual analog(innovati on!). Please hurry with the PSP2 and put a dual analog an it!!! I bet if they did then they would get a better support of game companies.
Hey FANBOYS, when the author said "Well, what do you guys think?" he didnt mean only the positive stuff, so stop ripping on the people with negative feedback. the psp go is absolute crap. it offers us absolutely nothing new, its just a redesign. what the hell is the point of offering movies, music, pictures, and game sections of the XMB, only for people to say ***** like "you dont need to be carrying around your media center with you.."
maybe if sony should have come straight out and offered a "send in 1 umd, get one voucher for a digital download"
maybe im wrong but i would think that a site like qj, being constantly updated with the latest home-brew and hacking guides would be directed at the tech whores. if i only wanted the official sony info i wouldnt be coming here.
on another note i DO believe that sales are related to quality. at least quality/price. the DS has enough market saturation to say that anyone whos still buying one has definitely used one in the past, and LIKED it.
its pointless to tell anyone who wants a touch screen to buy an ipod touch since the psp is the game console, and sony is the one with all the licenses for the games we love. is it to much to ask that we get cupholders with our car, without being sent to another lot?
you failed there. sure 16 gig built in is nice but look again at the memory card... i do not belive that it is a micro sd but anouther messed up memory card by sony. do you really think they well lose money to some one else?
looks like it is the same as a normal psp firmware. not like any of the other psps....
ill prob stick with 1000 untill i die unlees something better comes out
bluetooth is nice, everything else (including the redesign) can suck my dikk
Where the heck did sony come up with this design?
I just hope people won't keep on whining when they get their PSP Go. Or negative feedbacks in that sense. Again, why'd they have to go micro when most of us still got a lot if not that many at least one memory stick duo. I guess it's all about money. Aaaaand... PSP Go is not cheap either.
I knew this was going to suck and I was right. I will never buy this pos!!!
I would just like to point out to everyone that as a PSP - 1000 owner, who bought when it was still full price ($400 AUS) that this is:
A - Cheaper
B - A F*CKLOAD smaller
C - Has more storage, and more available for less at launch
D - Will probably be hacked much faster
E - Has bluetooth
F - Did anyone notice that about 3/4 of the way through the screen looked cracked?
Seriously, who uses UMD's anyway? I know I don't. The only gripe I have is with the Analog Nub. Bad placement!
I want this for no reason what so ever but if i do purchase it my biggest complaint is WTF, i got 8 memory pro duo sticks for my psp now i gotta go out and buy new ones!!!???? THATS STUPID!!! Honestly i envy its size tho. But d@mn sony could have gave us that second analod nub.
Digicron, the only tool responding to this article is you.
Smaller screen? No thanks. Different memory sticks? That is also a huge No Thanks. 2000 all the way.
I don't understand all the complaining about the new system.
For one, you can't say it's a piss poor design before you actually hold one in your hand. They said that with the original N64 controller and it turned out to be one of the best.
Also.. go get an iPhone.. have fun with your $100 a month bill.
To compare...
iPod Touch = 16GB = $299 (limited games)
PSP Go! = 16GB = $249 (huge library of games)
seriously?.. how can anyone complain at this price is beyond me.
I for one am getting it at launch.
theres a BIG difference between the two machines people! maybe not obviously as it being smaller and lighter but more the specs. the 1000 only has 32mb of ram compared to the 64mb that the slim has. notice some homebrew can be played only on slims then the phatties.... AHA!
everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion.. i just think that the design is kind of a letdown... but what the heck...
and plz sony for third-world country like me who dont own a good broadband backbone... pls provide a phy copy of games i.e. romstiks M2 ver or somethin equivalent.. (not that sony will listen anyway)
and no, for those who'll flame me for saying that i can just get out of my country...
and yeah, i dont care if the psp go dont hv touchscreen or whatnot... but it'd be nice if it had one... then it'd be easier to play some random rts or some touchy2 game...

The real problem is well everything
1. smaller screen by a whole half inch.
2. non ms pro duo it is mini ms a m2 like sony phones use it looks like a micro sd card those cards at 16 gig will be expensive as hell and no retailer in the us stocks them very often because nothing over here uses them.
3. poor controller placement prime chance for them to put a 2nd analog nub in move the start and select up between the controls in the blank spot.
4.umd drive is missing... I know alot of people hate the drive but wtf sony claims umd isnt dead and they pull this balony keep the drive increase the caching of the game or do installs like ps3 it will improve battery life and reduce or even eliminate noise from the drive...
5. price 250 for a smaller limited psp with bluetooth they might as well have made it a phone...
6. with all these sliming and changes was the battery changed as well is it now a 1000mah battery that wont work in any other device? is it soldered in like the ipod batteries? if so i guess that is one way to stop pandora battery exploits...
and to the guy above me
psp go! = 16gb = 249 (limited number of downloadable games you will be limited to the meager pickings on the psn) the 16GB ms mini will most likely cost 200-400 for a long time.
ipod touch = 16gb = 299 (it is a apple pda it has hundreds of games on the app store alone plus it is fully hackable forever. apple has to make a big hardware level fix to stop it from being jailbroken now.)
"psp go! + 16gb + 249 (limited number of downloadable games you will be limited to the meager pickings on the psn) the 16GB ms mini will most likely cost 200-400 for a long time.
ipod touch + 16gb + 299 (it is a apple pda it has hundreds of games on the app store alone plus it is fully hackable forever. apple has to make a big hardware level fix to stop it from being jailbroken now.) "
I don't know where your pulling this information from, but the majority of current PSP UMD games will be converted over to digital content. Also a ms mini 16GB will cost between 200-400? haha.. I'm not even going to bother on that comment.
Since when has an iPod been used as a PDA device?
Once again I will reiterate the facts. Maybe this will sound a bit more clearer.
iPod Touch + 16GB FIXED, medium to subpar game quality.
PSP Go! + 16GB, expandable beyond 16GB once larger cards are released.
Both devices are used for 1 main reason only, MULTIMEDIA. Don't brand an iPod for it's touchscreen capability, because that limits it even worse.
Look at the failure rate of an iPod as opposed to PSP's, the quality control of Apple products has gone to sh*t.
As for being hackable.. the majority of the owners of these two devices, albeit less than 5% don't even care about homebrew.
k.. done for now. Let me know if you need any more facts, I'd be happy to share.
I think you mean 16:9 (+widescreen) instead of 4:3.
But the price is too expensive no matter how you look at it, though. Paying the same price for an upgraded model of a 5 year old product without any extra features, is just a bad business plan on Sony's part.
The price point kills it stone dead for me. Having already invested in a 16Gb Pro Duo and 3 PSP's (now sold the 3000, didn't like the screen) I can't see how something with a lower spec and higher price tag is going to sell in the middle of a global recession.
If they come up with a way to allow us to use existing UMD's, that's something, but I'm not going to dump (or pay again for) 43 games and a £65 memory stick just to be slapped with a price tag of (at current rates) £235. I've supported the system heavily since launch, this just feels like being slapped in the face as a thank you. They should have just come out with the PSP2 and been done with it.
I'm also pissed off that it kills any import market stone dead.
I'm a huge PSP fanboy, I've published articles defending what an awesome piece of kit it is, even when games were sparse, but I don't like this. Had it been released at the same price point as the existing model, it would have been a possibility, but at this price, no thanks.
Remember in the original video of this being revealed? Yea, John Koller said that this is an "alternative" PSP to the current. Its for those digital people who want all their PSP media in DIGITAL! This isnt replacing the PSP3000, its simply an alternative, think of it as having a green apple, there is green and red apples, both have their good points, both have their bad. People choose their colour and flavour on what they like.
If they dont like the green apple, they can have the red one. If they dont like apples they can have a banana or a pineapple etc.
In short. Its just giving the consumer another choice in what PSP they want. Thats what Sony have been saying ALL ALONG!
And I will be getting this. Its very cool and I love the digital aspect to it, and being more portable and shaving the slide screen and best of all Bluetooth!
Thanks for reading
PSPnoObmOd
WTF are you on about? This isn't even comparing aples to oranges, it's apples to a paint brush. The Xbox360 has nothing to do with the PSP, why are you comparing them? The reason this is expensive is because it's micro technology, any portable device is going to be more expensive than a fixed one, aside from the fact that any portable device has to have half the design effort put into power saving and efficiency.
Of course the damn screen is smaller, it's a PSP "Go" ; operative word there, it's a more portable PSP for on the go. As for joysticks, where else on that design would you like them to put them?
If you don't want to buy it, fair enough, neither do I, but no need to start hurling abuse at Sony because their next iteration of the PSP doesn't please you with a nice new gadget to buy.
I agree with you mostly. Its a good PSP for those who love digital and haven't invested millions into the current PSP 3000 or 2000 (and 1000). I haven't, only got a 16gb memory stick, wrist-strap, screen protector and a few cases here and there nothing really mayjor. Oh yea, got a few games but I sold them for money so I could buy stuff from PSN. So as you were saying, I will be buying this, but most certainly NOT getting rid of my PSP 2000 anytime soon.
"Apples to a paint brush"
LOL
Sony never said "Trade-in your existing PSP to buy this one" They simply are providing another type of PSP to appeal to the needs of a greater audience.
Of course you can still play your UMDs, you've still got your old PSP right?
By the looks of things the USB is hidden underneath one of those silver switch things on the top of the PSP, and Sony said you can manage your media (that would include games) via PC (one would assume that connection would be made by USB cable).
"Some of us prefer the innovative gameplay the DS presents."
What, like 'Make 10'?
But seriously DS does have some innovative games much like PSP does with Locoroco.
He meant 4.3 Inches not a 4:3 screen ratio.
PSP Go had kept the 16:9 LCD screen, its just 3.8 Inches big.
If Sony kept the screen 4.3 Inches big then the whole device wouldn't really get a lot smaller.
I still use a PSP-1000. It plays the same games, and has the same usability as PSP GO (besides a bluetooth port).
>>>I'd like to see them come out with a >>>completely new handheld that was >>>stronger, faster, better, and could play, idk, >>>let's say PS2 games. eh?
yeah man, i absolutely agree with you!
and i use PSP100 to - psp lite is unserious thing, like fake PSP from China ^_^
eat copro you stupid C*U*N*T
the free 16gb memory makes the price go up too, which is a nice bonus(although im not buying one of these)
they need to let us "send" our umd's to them in exchange for the download, or something like this...i would much rather have it on my 16gb pro duo than have the bulky umd's...
green apple red apple... eat S*H*I*T stpid bittch
for your idiotic posts your a*s*s will be full of apples
Meh...
*Starts a new game of GOW on PSP-1000*
Where is the USB Port And The Video Output.
Yea same here...they could have pooped in the box and said this is the new psp and I pretty much would buy it. I have one concern about this...If I buy a digital download on my psp go! can I play that same download on my psp 2000? Seems like I should be able too because if I bought the umd I could play it on whatever psp I wanted...except for the psp go of course.
But what I need to know is what happens if I buy a game via the psn on my psp go! and I want to play it on my psp2000 as well? Can I copy the game to my psp2000? This might seem like an obvious "NO" to some but why? I mean If I own the umd of the game I can play it on whatever psp I want right? (except for the go obviously) Is there some sort of DRM that must be activated and deactivated with the new computer software? Any thoughts?
No UMD Drive for people who have UMDs of PSP Games. How are you supposed to play your old games? Sony took no account in this. Fail.
Of course there is no UMD, because the main point of this PSP is digital media. It is supposed to be a non-UMD version, dumb ass.
I agree with you apart from the analog placement part because (I assume) nether one of us has yet used it we can't know that its a bad part. To me it's in the same place as a PS1/2/3 controller which has never been a problem.
By the way I don't remember seeing a crack line but that could just be my eye sight.
Even third world countries like Australia sell 4GB M2's for $65 AU.
Well with that new PSP PC software "Media Go" or whatever they called it I'd say you probably could.
Everybody here seems to be jumping to the worst conclusions.
@ DarK_sTyLe: It has to have USB if it connects to PC software.
lol dude, that "cracked" screen is actually a clock - it's one of the new features on the PSP Go. A Screensaver clock thing..
But I feel what you're saying - The PSP Go is not bad [a little bit more than I expected, but not bad]
The Analog stick actually feels a lot better than it looks.
I brought up the idea of the next PSP being able to play PS2, and some person (Sorry I forget their name) made a great point by saying the PS2 basically is not old enough yet. I mean you figure they're still making games for it and everything.
The thing about people buying the new DSi for quality/price is at least Nintendo gave it new features. I don't even like it, 'nor did I play my old fat DS in over a half a year. Some people may say the new features are worthless, but at least Nintendo tried.
I mean Nintendo gave the DSi bigger screens, and Sony made theirs smaller. Sony took away a crapload of stuff from people that are making them think, "Why should I buy this? Smaller screen? I have to re-buy memory sticks? No UMD slot?"
As long as there is Amazon, I'll just stick with buying the 2000 model if something ever happens to mine, because I know someone will try the, "If you don't like it, don't get it," statement.
ten bucks says Sony will file for bankruptcy very soon.
this thing is ugly.
1. i didnt want an even smaller screen...small enough as it is
2. touch screen would've been nice
3. 16g internal memory was a good idea, but i dont have high-speed internet (28.8kbps) so how in the hell would i get the games? cant download them!
4. it looks very flimsy. i could be wrong, but my solid 1000 didnt hold up so well just being in my pocket most of the time...
i hope they get record low sales on this hunk o' junk...teach them a lesson (to listen to the people over here @ qj)
i Do realize that it is supposed to be really portable, but GEEZ! C'mon sony, i think you could come out with a better product than THIS!
Maybe if it was a NEW PSP like a PSP 2 with NEW games and better gfx etc etc then it would have been kind of cool BUT seeing as it's really just the same crap but smaller and with on-board memory,That your going to fill in like 2hours and at best having about 16 games, it's going to suck.
Not worth buying a new PSP yet again
PSP Fat = 200$ + 2gig 120$ (back when they where new)
PSP Slim = 140$(todays price)
PSP 3000 = 170$
Now PSP Go' 200$+(Maybe) + add new memoryStick.
(not even going to add all the games you have to re-buy for the PSP Go')
(i Only have the FAT PSP, just pointing out people really buy each system)
look dont care what you think 16 gb on bored memory ant enough i have about 12gb for my old psp and its not eough looking buy a special memory card of ebay that allowes you to use 2 8gig micro sd card as a pro duo. or geting a 16gb micro sd card and getting single adator but 32 gig just any enough i shure they could put a lot more in for the price and instead the toch screen why not the deviice that the iphone have the sesitive device then you could use the psp go closed and as steering wheel which i think could be cool with crash carting or summat. and iim very sad to hear about the reduced screen size for 1 i think ill stick with the origanl psp i have from 2005
omg i want it to be the same as before but better with touch screen, 2 analog nubs, no-umd, yes-umd, play ps1, ps2, ps3, xbox360, wii, n64, dreamcast, computer laser, holograms, bigger screen but stay small, interweb, download free games, phone, 1tb flash memory, sex
Is it me or is there a crack in the screen
mhm...I see
is this faster, more ram or have a better graphics processing ability? sure hope so.
if not, i probably won't get it.
..if there's normal SDK for this. Let ppl do what they want on their device!
Bluetooth is a nice feature, that will bring lot's of devices to PSP. I hope, there's finally official keyboard support for this.
I still could not understand sony's developers who made ir port for psp-1000 and UMD drive. I have never owned UMD disk, more to say, It was only once i inserted UMD in my psp drive as a test in a shop.
I might be not a usual psp user since I am playing Emuls mostly, surfing i-net, and listening to net radio, but it seems that PSP GO! was made for me.))
There's comparisons about iPhone VS Go! and it's trully right. Once again, - let homebrew developers be free on your platform, and maybe let them be in psp store, just like on appstore..
DS never was a concurent for PSP, bigger screen, 3D support and cpu power beats it with no remorse.
PSP seems a powerfull mobile platform, since it wasn't changed drastically since (even!) 1000 model.
I didn't look at all of the comments. but I read some. These are the facts ppl are not happy or satisfied with the psp go and that is all the matters is what the consumer wants. the second analog would've been gr8. every forum I've seen ppl have asked 4 it so y not? it would have made more money. if there was no dual analog then there should've been a touch screen? they changed the formats such as mem stick & no umd which could create issues. the screen being smaller I don't see as a big problem seeing as it makes it more PORTABLE. what about battery life. resolution, apps , etc there are many questions left unanswered. but to not give the ppl wanted is one thing and 2 cell it 4 high price. this is the cause 4 complaints
The PSP Go is going to get hacked eventually, so if I can play my UMD game dumps on it I'll probably get one.
But for a unhacked PSP owner with lots of UMDs, this makes no sense to buy.
with the ppl who said the analog placement was stupid. I have all the systems so I looked at the remotes. none of them had side by side analogs. how will I play monster hunter on this difficult! there was room 4 a second analog. the start and select buttons are stupid they could of put the where that Playstation logo/or button is
@Long: Whoa. Calm down. I did nothing to deserve this. I was just using it as an example.
Ok you want this to come down to facts
the price point of the go is too expensive all it is going to do is drive up the sales of the 3000 in comparison to the two.
I was wrong about the price of a 16 gig m2 that is only 85 dollars and the m2 have a max size of 32 gig that sony hasnt been able to make yet. Ms pro duo max out at 2 Terabytes a 16 gig is out now and a 32 gig is due sometime this year.
I own a ipod touch unless you do you know nothing. It is closer to a PDA than it is a gaming system like some people would like to say *ahem* apple... I have yet to hear any thing bad about the failure rates of them. I will never watch a movie on my ipod i would rather use my psp 2000 for that... But both devices have limits to their media capability there are devices far better suited for that than both of them... netbooks other media players like the arcos line all are better suited and have larger screens than psp or ipod...
ok ))))
Cost of downloadable games. That's it. If Metal Gear ____ costs $50 retail, then they had BETTER not sell it for $50 online. If we are talking discounts for the savings involved in downloading rather than producing that may be terrific. If, they take Steams lead, offering discounts, promotions and other crazy stuff, this will be the best thing ever.
My problem is that the actual cost of buying a game for me is like $10-20. Buy it new for $60, play it through at my own pace. Sell it for $50 online, altogether costs at about $15ish total. I know this is exactly what they are trying to stop, but why exactly should I subscribe to their ideals? On the same subject, how many times have you gone into Gamestop and seen the new game at $59.99 and a used sitting right next to it for $25? I hope Sony is ready to lower prices to conform to the reduction in demand by customers.
When Sony builds a track record of deals and good price points it will be time for a download only console. Is that time now? We will see.
i just got my psp 2000 stolen from me so i'm somewat considering gettin this. I do still have a 1000 but ever since i switched, just doesn't feel the same now XD. oh and for those who are complaining about the analog stick, i don't really like the look of the placement of it either, but i believe that since the handheld is smaller, the analog stick might be more easily accessed than it seems to look, but since i haven't tried this thing before, i can't say for sure yet. anyway, point is, i don't think anyone should say that this sucks until this actually gets released and people actually try it. i just might get it...or i might just stick with my 1000 till a psp2 or something =/
i choose the spinach XD
its still the same old psp, they said they were gonna release an upgrade w/ new specs. and sony doesnt listen to the consumers. people want 2 nipples/joysticks instead of just 1, people have been complaining about that from the start.
wtf sony trying to steal again. im a "tech whore" too but im not buying this because im not a douche. im a gamer.
