Are you still skeptical about the design of PSP Go? Still not satisfied with the video walkthrough we posted four days ago? Well here's another video from the tech site Engadget to get an up-close view of the white PSP Go. They also had a chance to interview John Koller and he revealed more spicy details about the redesigned PSP, including it's battery life.

When asked about the PSP Go's battery life, Koller said that it will almost be the same as the PSP 3000, which is about five to six hours, and that Sony is looking into a battery boost peripheral to support PSP Go. He also confirmed that it uses the same SDK as the regular PSP and hence, there will be no exclusive Go titles. Check out the video for a closer look at PSP Go.

» Region locked?

Main thing I'd like to know. If I buy a US PSP Go! will I be locked out of the UK store?

'Cos I'm not paying £70 over the US price (stupid rip-off Britain...)

by Foolmonkey - 2009-06-05 12:10
» hmm

they sure got their PSP GO's fast! lol

by Impuls3 - 2009-06-05 12:11
» not bad...

The PSP Go looks nice. I'd rather to carry that around, for listening to music and watching movies, instead of the other PSP models. Personally I think the other models look kinda childish and also the PSP Go could of done with a UMD drive.

by bobby18121 - 2009-06-05 12:16
» don't think so

because it uses the same sdk so i think it means it will use the same firmware etc. and if its like the ps3 you will get the uk store when you account is registered with a uk address.

» No, Advertising is always first LOL!!!

And also, the start and select buttons are mocking us that there is no second analog stick, cant wait to see them modders put another analog stick there and attach the second nub on the XO[]^ buttons!!

by whitecloud - 2009-06-05 12:34
» ok sony

now you just have to add motion sensors, make the screen a touch screen and a second analogue stick.

perhaps a inbuilt camera and be able to make phone calls

next time/gen

Still a 6 hour battery life? My DS puts out at least 20 hours and the lowest setting.

I'll stick with my PSP 1001 model, and my PSP 2000 model with CFW and UMD's TYVM.

by m3rox - 2009-06-05 13:43
» Yeah

At the lowest brightness setting, my 1001 reads 9.5 hours at a full charge using a standard PSP battery.

Also, you're lying about the DS battery charge. I'd put it at roughly half that.

» John Koller and Sony lies all the time about battery

Life, heck did they lie about the screen size being 3.8, after all the complaining I did about it not being 4.3?

I mean there a BIG corporation of liars. First they say about PSP 2000, it will have more battery life than PSP original, than they said PSP 3000 will have even more battery juice than 2000 but it was worse.

NOW! We got the same thing again.

Lies, lies, lies. Saying it will have more battery life than PSP original/ 2000/ 3000, yes right, believe them over anything else.

Im starting to think John Koller lied about the screen size and BSed about it being 3.8 and its probably still at 4.3 because there liars.

» WTF?!

The same XMB? What is this? seriously, if you're gonna release a product at least change the appearance of the XMB to something totally brand new.

by misthero - 2009-06-05 18:03
» don't you understand?

it is not a new product, is a simple redesigned umd-less PSP. period.

by fearlubu - 2009-06-05 19:02
» well

isnt that good if they lied about the screen size?

a slightly bigger handheld b/c of the screen is nice....the Go looks too small anyways...i have big hands

» PSP-2000 battery life.

PSP-2000 is more power efficient than PSP-1000 it just comes with a worse battery (1000 + 1800mAh, 2000 + 1200mAh) Just buy the PSP-2000's 2200mAh battery.

I've got a 1000+2000 model 3.6v 3600mAh batteries and the 2000's lasts longer.

by lunas - 2009-06-05 19:19
» did you see a battery door on there

To me it looks like the battery is non user replaceable like ipods which means no pandora and the capacity of the battery is probably lower too... also proprietary usb cord needed... combined with the other issues about it. Yeah i would buy a box of 3000 before i buy 1 go...

by WiiRolled - 2009-06-06 00:22
» Hey

Nice question marks

by Vman00 - 2009-06-06 02:44
» would throw some of us off

if they had a different interface. plus the xmb is ubiquitous nowadays, since sony had integrated them in almost all of their new products.

you can still wait with the Go! to be yanked into the brew community and get a new CXMB for it.

by genesiscopy - 2009-06-06 03:47
» woot

looks kinda flimsy to me... if i played dw:sf on that the buttons and analog stick would looked like it'd break..

anyhow as usual engadget does their thing best.. unboxing.. or looked like one...

ps: i loved incubus too... lol~

by joebo19x - 2009-06-06 06:36
» you can make..

phone calls' skype is built into both the 2/3000 and the psp go. plus it has a built in mic.

If you want crappy touch games, go get an iphone. i admit those games are fun....for a couple minutes. i have been playing my psp games for hours on end

MHP2g i have around 350 hours built on it....let me see an iphone game that fun

Oh dear, somebody who doesn't understand the economy.

It's not rip-off Britain. We're not at fault, except the idiots who decide to spend so much which lets the manufacturers set the prices so high. There's not some consortium of British high ups who decide on these prices you know.

In this case it's stupid rip-off Sony. Because people bought the PS3, the PS2 and earlier PSP's at such a high price they've realised people will spend the extra money for a PSP Go. The only people to blame are consumers with more money than sense and Sony for gouging the rest of us.

by Metal Jody - 2009-06-06 10:46
» .

can you use the Go!Cam on this? I have my cam sitting weightlessly on my desktop waiting to be used in a new psp. If I cant be used on the PSP GO, I'll just get a 2000.

Or Sony realized that the British have more money than intelligence. No I'm just kidding, you guys are alright.

by 73N5H1 - 2009-06-09 01:12
» battery

yeah, I have a 2200mah battery in my 2000 and I get 15 hours batter life.

» $ONY

on the bottom obviously.. just a redesigned port so that everyone has to buy new accessories for it instead of using the ones they already have.
