Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny of Namco Bandai is destined to be a great hit for the PSP when it comes out this summer. The PSP exclusive title has a huge roster of warriors, new enhanced mechanics, a depth combat system, not to mention ad-hoc mode support and gorgeous environments. So what more can you ask? Well how about the announcement that the badass God of War protagonist Kratos himself will be the special guest character of the game?

Still not pumped with the announcement? Watch the trailer below to get a glimpse of Kratos deliver some ass whooping moves. Man, I can't wait for this game to come out.

» This is sick!!!!

I can't wait; however, I hope his moves are straight from the God of War games and not a Eve mirror.

» Looks...

Looks Kick Ass! I can't wait...

I wish they would make a new GOW game for the PSP!

Man!

» nice

I'm more excited for this Soul Calibur than I was for the big console ones. Now I can play it anywhere.

» Well...

My biggest complaint about SC throughout the years was that they never had a proper Greek representitave. I guess Namco just shut my mouth real nice, eh?

Here's hoping they have the same character editor that SC4 does, so I can make Kratos actually LOOK Greek finally, instead of a black guy painted white.

» hmm

surprised they added him. I didn't think there was much need for him since he doesn't tie into the SC story much..at least as well as the other characters. Cool though.

» That logic seems flawed

Kratos seems to fit more into the SC universe than the other non canon characters that made it into the previous SC installment (Spawn, Link, Heihachi, Star Wars characters). I'd say it's about time they added him, although a playable version of Dark Saber from Fate/Stay Night would be just as cool.

» Not Cool...

Does anyone else think that they screwed up by having Soul Calibur games with Link, Heihachi, Darth Vader & Yoda but then when the perfect time comes around to make Soul Calibur PSP, after all the senseless character additions they don't add Dante (sword for close-range, guns for long-range), even with the scrapping of Devil May Cry PSP? It would have been awesome to see Kratos fight someone else cool

by RaphaelDDL - 2009-06-04 05:26
» hmm

@squintin

dude, its only one extra character in each game.. So, could not be Kratos and Dante..

And Dante isn't cool as Kratos. xD

Anyways, WHA THA for the news *---* I'll be damn poor this year with all those damn cool releases

» but...

Regardless of one character per game Kratos could have been on ps3 Soul Calibur. There's already a GOW for PSP. They could have thrown us a homage for the cancelled DMC PSP game.

I don't find Soul Calibur at all fun but the addition of Kratos somehow makes this more appealing to me.

» That logic isn't flawed

Kratos is about Greek Mythology. If you can tell me how he fits that'll be great cause from my understanding, SC isn't at all Greek myth at all.
