The powers and resources of the NPD, Enterbrain, and GfK Chart-Track have all come together and the results are in - Dragon Quest IX dominated the global sales charts spanning over three months ending September of this year. What's more amazing is that the DS-exclusive title has only been released in Japan. See how the others fared.

Top 5:
  1. Dragon Quest IX: 3,925,000
  2. Wii Sports Resort: 3,014,000
  3. Madden NFL 10: 2,612,000
  4. Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver: 2,068,000
  5. Halo 3: ODST: 1,847,000
Apart from Dragon Quest IX, the Pokemon remakes are also Japan-only releases, so figures on the games come from Japan alone. Wii Sports Resort, on the other hand, sold 1.7 million in the US, 841,000 in Japan, and 465,000 in the UK. As for Madden, quite predictably, sold only 30,000 in the UK, the rest are all from the US.

I hope so, I remember 8 being WTF super awesome. I think it was 8, the artist was the same dude that did all the Dragonball series.

He's been the character and monster designer of all the Dragon Quest games, not just DQ8.

It's just that the remake of DW3 for the GBC is the first one that's obvious to those who didn't know since they actually used the original art this time around which they didn't when originally releasing DW3 for the NES.

It's actually nice when Toriyama doesn't make every character look like a DBZ character.
