So, you've read the manga, loved the anime and got hooked on the games, but are you ready to see Son Goku and his friends take on the big screen? 20th Century Fox surely is.According to Canadian news site Canada.com, 20th Century Fox has given the go-ahead to three major film productions, one of them being a live-action movie based on Akira Toriyama's brainchild.
The movie will reportedly have a budget of no less than US$ 100 million, and will begin production soon with no details as to when it's projected to be shown.
The Dragon Ball Z franchise is considered as one of the most popular literary franchises in the world, with deals encompassing print, TV, video games, clothing and toys. Let's hope that this project yields results that will give justice to the legendary series. We'd love to see how the actors will go Super Saiyan on us.

If they want to make this movie popular, they should make a CG movie like Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children.
Squaresoft was right about making CG movie,,..The only reason why Final Fantasy The spirits Within failed was because the storyline suck!!!
how are they going to do this? Even in an hour and a half to two hours, you know most of it will be nothing but powering up. How much story can they possibly get through in one movie?
I take it this will be some crappy side story like the anime movies, and not directly taken from the main story. But still.
They should just make it one long-ass battle between Goku and Vageta. TWO HOURS OF IT. With a high budget and awesome special effect, that could be pretty sweet.

I remember the rumors since I was in elementary school. I'm out of high school now so the idea for the movie is old. This is the first I've heard anything solid though. Curious how this will turn out.
For any DBZ movie to be made true to the original, it has to be made by a japanese man... who is Akira Toriyama himself. If he has no directing job on the movie, then it will not stay true to the original and it will either suck really bad, or just be a "whatever" movie. Also, to make a live action DBZ movie, you are going to need WAY more than $100mill to make it. Seriously, 200mill would be the least amount of money to make a decent DBZ movie, the biggest budget would be like $1 bill for the best DBZ movie in all of known history, period. $100mill just isn't enough. Matrix Revolutions was made on a $150mill budget, so I don't know what they can do with only $100mill =/

This will be interesting, three films in montreal. I saw the 1999 movie and it was kinda rubbish. I hope this will be better as it is probably going to be hard to keep their wigs/hair straight (if you've watched the program you'll know that their hair hardly moves.)

I think theyd use trained experienced actors for a film with a budget of 100 million dollars. Not audition for people... unless its to be an extra or something i guess.
