Fans of Pentavision and PM Studios' DJ Max Fever will soon be able to take their high scores and post them online through the game's new online community service next month. The new service, called Platinum Crew, will replace the temporary ranking system found on the official DJ Max Fever website. The online database will also let gamers check out the stats of their fellow DJ Max Fever players.

Perhaps the best thing about Platinum Crew is that gamers will eventually be able to win official game merchandise through it, including the extremely rare Limited Edition version of the game, which includes a copy of the game, the soundtrack, an art book, puzzle, post cards, and a mask. The Limited Edition, which is limited to only 30 copies, won't be sold in stores, so the Platinum Crew service will be the only option for those who want it.

PM Studios will roll out the Platinum Crew service this April. Stay tuned for more updates.

» What about cheaters?

Wouldn't people with CWcheat be able to modify their score? How would they know if a score is legit?

» Hmmm. Interesting question.

IIRC, DJ Max Fever was one of the games that messed with plugins in the seplugins folder, but Torch made an app that fixed that.

I guess PM Studio has a new verification system or something that would make sure that the scores are legit. I have no idea how they're going to implement such a system though.
