Final Fantasy Dissidia Street Date broken - Image 1Final Fantasy Dissidia Street Date broken - Image 2

While it clearly doesn't matter for everyone who doesn't live in Japan, Dissidia: Final Fantasy's street date was broken. So if you just happen to be in Japan, go crazy... though you could just wait for tomorrow when the game's officially out.

There's also some last minute info on the game you might want to check out. Some of them are already kinda obvious, but some are pure gems, like FFX Bahamut being a summon.
  • All of the Member's storylines advance in Story Mode.
  • There is a move scene everytime you clear the game with one person.
  • Most techniques can be done with the push of a button, though it depends on timing.
  • Cutscenes can be skipped, and the choice to do so comes up when you start the game.
  • It takes about a hour and a half to beat Cloud's Story
  • Terra's story takes about two hours to complete.
  • Terra's Storymode difficulty is rather high.
  • Each character requires a different Strategy when using them.
  • The game uses the PSP's Latest Firmwire Update (Sorry not 1.50, my mistake it's 5.01)
  • The Evasion Technique (Using the Right button with X, and a direction button) is kind of hard to get used to but it's a major point in the game.
  • The Limited Edition's Calendar is kind of small, however interestingly enough on some sites the Calendar has been moved elsewhere it still comes with the bundle though.
  • Leveling up isn't as hard as it is in other Final Fantasy games, Firion takes about a couple of hours to get to level 14...nevermind it is pretty long.
  • There's one scene with Squall and Garland that's pretty interesting, and gameplay wise Squall is pretty brutal with combos.
  • Bahamut from FFX, and the Magus Sisters are Summons
  • You start with being able to equip only 3 accessories.

Woot!

Thanks for the news. Downloading now... :)
by Acteon - 2008-12-17 14:02:04
Heh.

Yeah good luck with that - the game requires FW 5.01, so unless you have your own private CFW, it'll be useless.
by m3rox - 2008-12-17 14:05:10
pfft

shows what you know Acteon, people with lower cfws have been playing it since last night.
by Jet8225 - 2008-12-17 14:55:34
CFW works

Well, I've been playing since this morning... on a 5.00 M33-2
by Quanghuy - 2008-12-17 14:59:06
Lol

I'm playing the game right now :P, it's pretty good, I want to post up a translation guide for people on Livejournal, but with so many alternate endings, I think I'd just get lazy. I'll just make a small guide about the controls, and make videos of each ending/cut scene (assuming that I can actually get through all of them) and sub them from there.

Actually...

...shows what QJ knows then: "The game uses the PSP's Latest Firmwire Update (Sorry not 1.50, my mistake it's 5.01)" Can't blame me if QJ can't report the facts properly. Still, fantastic news that people can pirate the machine into oblivion, let me find the champagne...
by FearEvil19 - 2008-12-17 15:25:38
QJ is correct.

the UMD does require the firmware 5.01 to run, BUT hwne you play ISO images from the MS it wont check the firmware.
by Jet8225 - 2008-12-17 15:39:04
that would be nice

There's some stuff I still don't know how to do so that would be nice.

It workd on CFW! Tested to work on 5.00m33-4

It has been tested on CFW 5.00m33-4 by Hako. If he says it works then it works. lol Downloading right now going to put it on my 16GB SD with Pro Duo Adaptor XD Freakin amazing. Even if the game is in Japanese, screw it! Learn it the kid way by tapping those buttons and see what happens lol.
