Square Enix has finally pinned down the released date of Dissidia Duodecim Prologus Final Fantasy, the scene-setting prologue for Dissidia 012. Scheduled to be available for download on the the PlayStation Network from 23rd March, across Europe and PAL territories, the prologue will set you back €2.99.

Available two days prior to the release of Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy, Prologus focuses on the story of Final Fantasy XIII protagonist Lightning as he tries to recount the events leading to the upcoming title. The game will feature a unique story Mode and an Arcade Mode with two different difficulty levels. It will also offer a wide variety of features including the ability to carry over in-game items to Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy. The more achievements you gain during the game, the more items you can acquire. But that's not all, by carrying over data from Prologus to Dissidia 012, you can also unlock the Aerith Gainsborough of Final Fantasy VII as an assist character.

Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy will be out on March 25.
