Details of the WWE vs. THQ lawsuit revealed |
Ó
We've already reported that WWE has filed a lawsuit against THQ. There was another lawsuit filed back in 2004 against the THQ-Jakks Pacific partnership when WWE found out that THQ had been selling WWE-licensed games in Japan and other parts of Asia. Today, we got an inside look at the details of the lawsuit. It showed that THQ had allegedly been sublicensing the games. It says that when "THQ submitted package approval request forms in 2004 for a game to be sold in Japan, the publisher listed Yuke's as 'THQ's regional distributor,' and not a sublicensee." In fact, WWE and THQ-Jakks Pacific had signed an agreement that specifies "sublicensing to any company that is not wholly owned by the joint venture without prior written consent from WWE" is prohibited.
THQ had at first denied the allegations, but now they are also out to prove that selling video games in Asia did not cause a breach of the video game license agreement.
Is it about collusion? Is it about license abuse? Bottom line is, WWE wanted to terminate the license agreement with THQ, get paid for the damages, and earn back the royalties that they're supposed to have gained in the alleged illegal THQ sublicensing. We'll see what happens as more details about the case unfold in the future.

if ur gonna bring games anywhere bring em to the u.s
thq always gave us the best wrstling games (WWF NO MERCY !!) , so if wwe wanna suck ass like their doing right now, im out of it......btw F U Vince McMahon !
I personally dont like my .iso's of wrestling games for my modded xbox...in my opinion wrestlin games are pretty gay but dont post just to flame mine. (You are entitled to your opinion)
For the sake of the wrestling fans WWE, don't do that.
THQ has made many great games, and you're not sure if someone else will do the same job (or greater). You should stick to THQ, and do not do idiotic things just for money.
... What are you talking about? THQ made so many crap licensed games- great example, Waynes world - snes/md- add the rest... all the wrestling ones suck ass anyways.
Maybe WWF RAW on the Snes was alright though ;) .. others- slow and gay- - - enough said
WWE has gone downhill ever since The Rock left...or after the "ATTITUDE" era. Brock Lesnar was incredible, but they even lost him.
Yuke's grappling/fighting engine is good, but not as deep as the AKI engine.
THQ made a big mistake doing what they did. They should have known that WWE is just like Microsoft: can't wait to monopolize everything. You mess up a little bit, GG.
Pro-wrestling is fake and wrestling games suck. Anyone who's interested in that stuff must be a complete moron. If you want to see real fights, watch UFC, not some WWF circus.
THQ should just be sued for making PSP games with 7 minutes load time....
