David Jaffe's 'mystery' space confirmed: studio in Utah |

Just recently David Jaffe made his official return to the blogging world when he posted up two mysterious pictures that begged the question, "Is that his new studio?" And now that he finally used words on his latest entry to his personal game design blog, he has confirmed that the pictures previously posted were from an empty space in Utah.
It appears that Jaffe is returning to his roots again, as it may be recalled that the Twisted Metal developer worked in the same Incognito studio headquartered in Utah. If his move for independent game development was surprising for some, he actually revealed a desire to go indie back in the an interview on GameTrailer's Bonus Round. He was quoted to have said:
You never really know - Sony's been a great home for a long time and whether or not it's with an independent studio or staying within the walls of Sony, I always want to be able to contribute to Sony, but the specific way to get to that destination is under discussion right now. So whether or not that becomes a full fledged company or it becomes a more focused role within Sony, which is sort of all about these [downloadable] games is sort of TBD at the moment.
It wouldn't be surprising if he soon joins the indie's haven, the Great Games Experiment, pretty soon, since many of the industry's developers-gone-indie share their historical experience to today's budding indie developers. His recent entry to his blog includes a promise to spill details on the mysterious space and what he really plans for it, but for now he talks about a certain historical and relatively significant idealism of closed-door development - keeping secrets to bring out more gaming magic.
