Your trip to hell's been dated. During the Electronic Arts conference at the currently ongoing GamesCom event in Cologne, the North American and European launch dates for Visceral Games' Dante's Inferno were finally announced.
All three versions of the game -- PS3, PSP, and Xbox 360 -- will ship out to retailers in North America starting February 9, 2010. Gamers in Europe can get their copies starting February 12, 2010. I wonder what PR stunt they have planned for that.
An animated Dante's Inferno feature from EA and Starz Media will also be released on launch day. The first issue of the comic based on the game has also been dated for December 9.
Dante's Inferno puts players in the role of Dante as he travels on an epic descent through Dante Alighieri's nine circles of Hell - limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Dante's journey is driven by his desire to reclaim the soul of his beloved Beatrice after she is dragged through the gates of hell by Lucifer.
