Creepy, mysterious timer counts down on PlayStation Japan |

An ominous timer has appeared on the Japan Playstation website. The timer is counting down the hours to something that is little less than 60 hours away. Tick tock, tick tock. What could it be counting down to?
The backdrop of the timer shows what seems to be a pool of blood. Either that or cranberry juice. If you have your speakers on you'll also hear some creepy audio, like rain, thunder, muffled whispers, and distant screams.
I think it's fair to say that it's not cranberry juice. If you listen closely you can also hear that the voices are talking in English (AndyD421 has even provided a partial transcript in the comments below), which could mean that this "something" that's happening in 60 hours will happen internationally.
Also superimposed on the pool of blood is the Japanese character "SA." Will Sadako suddenly leap out from our screens? Probably not. Well, whatever the timer is counting down to, we'll know in less than 60 hours.

that's one freaky timer. freaky freaky freaky. *shudder*
the first thing that came into my head tho is Heavy Rain. oh please please please let it be something pertaining to Heavy Rain. we've hardly heard anything about it! i'm actually willing (and oh so HOPING) to bet that it's Heavy Rain... maybe news about the game or some such.
i mean... there's rain sounding in the background. then there's blood. and it looks oh so thriller-y and suspense-y... and if you listen to the voices, they actually sound like they're cursing.
all of these details in the counter/timer page kinda fit with the "casting" trailer they put out and the poster they published (the one that had "The Origami Killer" as a subtitle to Heavy Rain)... man, i'm sooo dying to hear anything about that game that i'm practically trying to put so much meaning into this. hahahaha!
the only thing that's telling me that this is NOT Heavy Rain is that it's in the PS Japan website. and the game is being developed by Quantic Dream... a Europe-based studio (France, to be specific).... so...
*shrug*
it's anyone's guess, really. but those are my two cents... heavy rain heavy rain heavy raaaiiiiiin.... *crosses fingers*

It's most likely some horror game being released in Japan.

My first thought was Heavy Rain too! I don't know if it's because I'm waiting for news about the game since the first day I watched the trailer or if it was just a feeling...but, please, let it be Heavy Rain

siren 3, the bottom right text is the japanese character "sa"
It's Siren 3. That huge Hiragana is 'sa', which is the first letter of Japanese writing of the word 'Siren'.
I don't know whether the horror game series are brought overseas or not, but Siren & Siren 2 are fairly popular here in Japan.
Makes quite a bit of sence, being the cover for the first siren on the ps2 had the same griany bloody look as this timer does.
For some reason i was using 12 hours for each day. I need to give myself a break or something. And on that note. The 17th is thursday. PSN update. Maybe a demo or a video will be released on the store.
i can hear about the same as AndyD421, it sounds like the girl says "did you see that just now, it's what we've been looking for, what do you think they are doing?" Anyway, i'm not that good with audio, but if you recorded the video, couldn't someone use a program such as Cubase and mute the rain and only leave audio?

I really like how they tried to make it creepy and mysterious, but I'm wondering if this will also be done on the american site, we would all find it funny I suppose. :)
It would have been cool if it was done internationally , with the same timer at the same time.
