Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution - Image 1

Recently, we reported that the upcoming video game from Firaxis and 2K Games, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, is going to be released on multiple platforms. It's currently scheduled for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, DS, and Wii next year.

Why was the PlayStation Portable left out? Eurogamer was able to get a statement from Firaxis' Barry Caudill about the PSP version of Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution - or the lack of it. According to Caudill, they left Sony's handheld out simply because they were short on resources since they will be doing all the other versions in-house. He also explained that the Nintendo Wii version will be slightly delayed since they "could free up enough guys to do it, but we don't have enough guys to then do a PSP version as well". Caudill added:

It's not like we're dissing the platform - I use a PSP. We put Pirates out on it, or rather we had Full Fat do it. But see this one, the difference here is we're doing all of these in-house and so for PSP we may have to - if it was going to come out in a timely fashion - we may have to farm it out. But right now we're just doing all these in-house and that's the official word

That's about it folks. We'll give you more updates on Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution once they become available, in the meantime, stay tuned.

thats it folks.

Open your eyes. PSP days are over.

* No good games anymore, how much haver there been? - devs concentrate on other consoles. The few games, that come demand higher FW which will be secure-tightened when psp-slim comes to stores.

* The new PSP-slim with its new MoBo and FW - likely not hackable/homebrewenableb le

- nice one!

* one moonshiner after the other leaves the battleground - SE leagal-threads make them go...bye DaX

* psp-scene which consists of noob kids only - sorry guys, but thats the truth, face it. example? "where do i put this on my psp", "I have no ms0:/ folder", "I installed FW 3.51.....", "where do i put that zip file?"

* noob homecoder keep the impression of a 'scene' alive - but who needs Portals or such? watching flash-funny-movies? youre kidding! the only true achievements for homebrew come from a very small group of great guys. what doi you do without them?

psp will remain at its present state. no more - no less

mark my words...

Just because they dont have enough guys.......Not a good excuse. The could have cut out nintendo wii and made it on psp but this is all coz they think it wont be successful on psp.

3 out of 4 of those platforms have a lower installed user base than the PSP, in fact not even HALF the user base of the PSP.

Firaxis, sort your sh*t out.

Bad enough the PSP isn't getting the game, that they have to give a ridiculous explanation like that.

everybody who hammers on homebrew makers.. stf^. please. they do all their stuff for you..and you just yell ***** at them.and there are ALOT of homebrew coders..and i mean alot. most of them just arent major..like there are several on my site, they just dont release it to the public, just to the forums..usually. iPSP was made by Anti-QJ from tshcodes.com (and not anti-qj.net, qj.com..its a gay site) and there are a few more people who can code it..its not that hard..all you need is the right tools.

I guess Pirates! for PSP didn't sell very well. Maybe because a lot of PSP users use dumps? I guess we are digging our own grave.

And I don't think PSP has lousy releases, for christ sake - look at the NDS, only couple of games are worth playing (then again, it's user preference).
