Lazard Capital Markets, a New-York-based investment bank, sent out an investor note saying that Circuit City is holding a trial run to see how effectively they can sell used games at select stores and on circuitcity.com.Circuit City isn't offering that many used games (the so-called "pre-owned games"):
- 15 titles for the PS2 including the Guitar Hero II bundle (74.99 US dollars) and Lego Star Wars II (17.99 US dollars)
- 12 titles for Xbox 360
- 7 titles for PSP
- 6 titles for Xbox
According to Lazard, used game products bring in about $1 billion in sales in North America each year. Getting in the used games business requires people who are good at evaluating used games and a dedicated inventory system.
In other news, Circuit City is offering a Halo faceplate deal.

"they are testing selling used games" sounds like you've never sold used games in Usa.
we've been selling used games in stores in Sweden for ages.

Gamestop/EB sucks because those dip*****s never phased out the policy of accepting trade-ins without cases and manuals. If you're going to pricegouge the ***** out of a used game, at least give me the case and manual...and maybe a complementary jar of vaseline to sooth my anus after getting raped at the cash register.
