Ó

Castlevania the movie - Image 1 We've been waiting for the movie port of a beloved video game franchise, Castlevania. Well, this bit of news might bring us a step closer to seeing it on the silver screen.

Previous reports that "Alien vs. Predator" director Paul W.S. Anderson will take the director's seat have been busted as he has indeed stepped aside to direct the remake of Death Race instead. Enter Sylvain White, director of "Stomp the Yard". Reportedly, the director will be taking home a seven-figure paycheck for the Castlevania project.

The Castlevania movie is co-produced by Rogue Pictures and Crystal Sky Entertainment and will start shooting this fall. According to Variety, the movie will be shot in South Africa and Romania. Anderson will be penning the script for the movie which centers on the fight between Vlad the Impaler and the Belmont family.

White is enthused about the Castlevania movie, saying, "Most of the vampire films have been present or set in the future, from 'Blade' to 'Underworld,' and I was attracted by the chance to make a dark, epic period movie that almost has an anime feel to it."

The movie based on Konami's video game series will be coming to theaters in late 2008. We'll wait for further developments and keep you posted.

Just be glad Uwe Boll isn't in charge... he's already going to ruin Far Cry and Postal.

If they could get the atmosphere just right, and the script just right, it could turn out to be a good movie.

God help us all.

And yes, Van Helsing is the closest that we've gotten to Castlevania the movie. Just like Event Horizon was Doom.

» Street Fighter?

if the director is from the street fighter movie i dont know if the movie is gonna be suck but when i read the article i think its a promising movie

» Ummmm

I'm doing a bit of inferring here, but are you defending Stomp the Yard? If you are, you are a degenerate of the highest order, and you would benefit the gene pool by never having children. All of those movies absolutely blow, with the exception of Resident Evil, that one just mildly blows.

I'm going to ask the same thing about this Castlevania movie that I asked about the Transformers movie and game: Does anyone honestly think it won't suck?

by lavino - 2007-06-16 17:58
» why? OH WHY?????

Please don't do this... look at ALL the games to movie produced by Hollywood... they all sux (except Silent Hill).

Please don't ruin Castlevania! Do Halo instead!

CASTLEVANIA MOVIE DIRECTOR.

Sylivain White is directing the movie of Konami's Castlevania and he is also writing the script with Paul Anderson.

The plot will be based on the first Castlevania game and it is time that Paul Anderson to cut off the slack and restart re-writing the script to follow up to the game

and I,m not impressed with him with that DOA movie.

Crystal Sky Pictures are producing the film also they will be doing the Tekken movie that they need to change on the director and the screenwriters and hire some Hong Kong film companies and Japanese studios to produce the film as well and the story needs to be based on Tekken 2 game.
