Capcom: "We certainly do not intend to stop supporting UMD"

When it comes to the PSP, it won't be the first time to note that Sony wants to go digital. Although they did mention that they won't abandon UMD support, there's no mistake about the path that Sony wants its handheld to take. We've seen it happen with Patapon 2, now with Fate/Unlimited Codes, and there are even rumors floating around about a UMD-less PSP model. Capcom, on the other hand, will maintain their support for UMD amidst the obvious direction that Sony is driving towards.

They may have taken the digital path with Fate/Unlimited Codes, but that doesn't signify a move to go all digital. "We certainly do not intend to stop supporting UMD,” said a Capcom rep to MCV. “Certainly for us PSP is very important – more so with Monster Hunter coming – than maybe any other publisher." Fair enough, Monster Hunter has been a massively successful title for the PSP, and Capcom isn't about to jeopardize that.

What's that supposed to mean? Sony said they will continue to support UMD too. The next PSP will still use UMD

Complete Rant & Tangent That Goes Completely Off-Topic!

Good on ya Capcom!

Now we just need Sony to see this!

Paying for digital downloads is a crock of sh*t.

I like owning my manuals and boxes with my games. I don't care whether it saves them (Sony) money or not. They never release the obscure Japanese titles and they make huge losses on these sh*tty western psp releases that they seem to take chances with. So go Capcom!!

Release Yakuza 3 & Kenzan for PS3!

And also Tatsunoko Vs Capcom for us westerners!!!
