Around how much does Capcom expect to ship in the next year and for what systems? We have that info now for you all!
  • Dead Rising (360) - 660,000 unitsMMZ
  • Lost Planet (360) - 740,000 units
  • Okami (PS2) - 390,000 units
  • Rockman / Megaman series (Various) - 910,000 units
  • Sengoku Basara 2 (PS2) - 250,000 units (Japan only)
  • Gyakuten Saiban 4 (NDS) - 200,000 units (Japan only)
Capcom knows we love Mega Man and they'll be milking him next year. What is this about Gyakuten Saiban 4 (Phoenix Wright 4) being Japan only? That better change after the second game hits English speaking shores next year. We also have information on how many titles for each system Capcom has planned. Surprisingly, PSP has more titles than the DS but they expect the titles on the DS to sell more per game than the PSP. It must be the Mega Man effect.
  • PlayStation 2 - 33 titles / 3.4 million units
  • PlayStation 3 - 3 titles / 150,000 units
  • PSP - 21 titles / 2.5 million units
  • Xbox - 1 title / 100,000 units
  • Xbox 360 - 6 titles / 1.85 million units
  • Game Boy Advance - 2 titles / 300,000 units
  • Nintendo DS - 10 titles / 1.6 million units
PS3? What PS3? It's all about the PS2 according to Capcom. Another surprise is that they currently have no plans for the Wii in its launch window. Looks like they'll be arriving late for the party. And if interviews with Shinji Mikami are to be believed, it'll be Mega Man. Or maybe Mega Man will appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl?

I figure part of the reason Capcom thinks Mega Man will do better on Nintendo systems because Nintendo has had exclusive license for new MM games. The Zero series in particular is amazing. The remake of Maverick Hunter X for PSP was good but it's 40 dollars and it was a game everyone had played.

Still, it's good news all around. Mega Man is my favorite game franchise. Glad to see the little manboy robot will be around for another 20 years.

Capcom can't really have an affair with the Blue Bomber...=|

Maverick Hunter X was only 30 bucks. It was Megaman X and a little more. Anyway Megaman should start with the PS3 next year.

i cant wait till the lost planet comes out. i've played the demo to completion twice now. I'll probally even end up buying dead rising just to raise sales on capcom gmaes for the 360. The more sales they get the more games they will drop for the 360. Lost Planet is going to be sick tho if you havent peeped the demo than go ahead it will make you want the game bad...

CAPCOM have only 3 titles for PS3, DMC4?, RE5?, what other? RE5 is going multiplat, DMC4 promise to be a system seller.

CAPCOM main focus on PS2 is great news for PS2 owners, and makes a lot of sense for CAPCOM, because they are profiting with PS2 large user base and low cost development, okami promise to be great and God of Hand seems enjoyable. In proper time all that exclusive will have get a sequel on PS3. See you.

And sadly megaman powered up couldn't even do 25k in North America...

And it did less than 10k in Japan...

Yes Megaman Maverick Hunter X was a game that many had previously played, not me I went from the clasic NES/SNES/PS to PSP No PS2 or current gen console for me...

But there are two things that you are not considering, one, playing it once doesnt mean you wont want to play it, probably a lot o f the people that bought it did so because they had played it previously.... I mean how many times do you watch a re-run of a show you like, you can even tell when a joke you like is coming, and that's why you enjoy it the second time, I know I enjoy playing Megaman 2 because I remember it very well and the enemies, and the levels, same for mario bros, or clasic tetris, or other games...

Second... You can unlock Vile, which makes it more interesting, and you can unlock an anime, which ads values if you consider that UMD's sell for 15-30 dlls, sometimes for only two episodes (Trigun, Dead Leaves(?))
