Some brave hackers stormed Gamescom last week to find out if Sony's latest Europe-only PSP model, the PSP-E1000 series, is hackable or not.
At last week's Gamescom event at Cologne, Sony surprised everyone by announcing a new version of the PSP. Dubbed as the PSP-E1000 series, the new model comes with a slightly redesigned exterior and a budget friendly price tag, but lacks WiFi functionality. Though the console is not yet out of the market, some hackers was able to grab hold of the device at the Sony show floor to do a little testing.

As posted by the folks at PSPGen, the homebrew running on the device is actually signed. It should also be noted that the firmware installed is the previous firmware 6.50.
The PSP-E1000 will be available in the European market starting this Fall for only €99.99.
