Brash Entertainment - Image 1There's a myth floating around about how anything and everything related to Superman gets cursed. It's called the "Superman Curse." Check it out in Wikipedia. It's there.

I'm not the superstitious type but when I heard that beleaguered Brash Entertainment was working on an unannounced Superman title I went "hmmm."

We recently published an article on the 20 staffers Brash had to can due to economic hardships. This was only the tip of the depressing iceberg.

It seems they're also unable to pay most of their game developers and are now they're in the process of getting rid of their licenses. I suppose they hope that the cash they get from selling can pay their way out of the hole they're in but it seems a pretty desperate measure.

The sum effect is about what you can expect with most of their games in development either in limbo or KIA. Besides the Superman game, the full list of casualties include, Tale of Desperaux, Prison Break, Night at the Museum 2, Clash of the Titans, and 300.

I suppose they should be counted as lucky to still have two games in confirmed "in the works," in spite of everything: Six Flags Fun Park and Saw. Still, one has to wonder what gods Brash had angered to deserve this. Perhaps the same ones that struck down Superman 64 so very long ago?

» Eh...

As much as I feel sorry for the developers, I'm also glad that a licensed game developer has crashed down into the dust.
