Illidan - Image 1Put those fanfic skills to good use and join Blizzard's contest for creative writers. Winner gets to fly to Blizzard's offices to meet with their writing staff, plus you get a very nice replica of the mighty sword, Frostmourne. If you love writing and cooking up what-ifs in game stories like me, this ought to be a fun contest to join

All you have to do is write a short story, between 3,000-10,000 words, set in the Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo universes. Deadline for entries is on April 12th, 2009, so you have less than a month to get complete your Warcraft hent. Just kidding, Blizzard will hit you across the face with Frostmourne if you submit that.

First prize is a trip to Blizzard HQ in Southern California, round trip coach air fare, two nights of lodging, and dinner with the guys at Blizzard - all worth US$ 1000. Who knows? You might make it to the team if they like you. They'll also be throwing in a replica of Frostmourne, which you can use for cosplaying, scratching your back, or poking the TV when you can't find the remote.

Seven runners-up will receive prize packs containing archive packages of Diablo, Warcraft, and StarCraft, each signed by Chris Metzen, cover artists, and the Blizzard writing staff. That's probably the best consolation prize I've seen in a long time.

So pick up your writing gear, curl up in a nice, cozy corner and start writing!

» WTF?

How is this PS3 related news? Really there is no version of this game even out for PS3. So why would PS3 users care? Keep it in the MMORPG section rather than spamming it across all unrelated section.

"Listed in: News"

If there's one thing that annoys me it's that of people criticizing those who already know what they are doing...

by jamesbrown900 - 2009-03-15 18:49
» Um- no.

Hardly fit for "news" when it's fairly game specific and of no concern to PS3 users... I could put anything about any game in NEWS than by your logic. Stop sucking up and go listen to seether you teeny bopper.

by ov3rkill - 2009-03-15 20:07
» I'm sensing something here...

I'm sensing more Blizzard games, probably sequels and/or prequels, coming up. Or just some books to be published but whatever, they're one of the coolest company and developer out there.

by phiyuku - 2009-03-15 22:36
» What I sense

is that they ran out of ideas.

by whitecloud - 2009-03-15 23:34
» nah

they want to keep attention on there company buy doing this and silently hinting at ur story being made into a game. and if it is good enough using it for a **** load less cost than i would to pay peaople to write it.

also it is relevent NEWS for all because; who can enter is not limited to people who play MMORPG's, but rather ANY ONE, including ps3 owners can enter jamesbrown900.

.

thats my 2 cents

by jamesbrown900 - 2009-03-16 02:20
» um no.

Pretty sure what it comes down to is this, the writer of the article thought hey... we once had a WoW section which was updated at a slow but at least once a day rate, but we removed it and now have this MMO section which no one reads, because now that it's not even game specific hardly gets updated. They also probably know that hey there are a bunch of other sites that people actually read, who are on the ball about reporting WoW news.

I honestly think the reason he posted it under news is because if he posted it under the appropriate section no one would read it. So your assertion that anyone can enter is really a load of crap, anyone can enter every sweepstakes pepsi contest, essay etc.... in the world and I still wouldn't want to see it under general news.

» hmm Clearly says diablo

And diablo was on the ps1 i would say this is relevant. If you didnt know this you then fail at the game of life.

by jamesbrown900 - 2009-03-16 04:13
» You are epic fail.

Uh, PS1 !+ PS3. If you did not know this you fail at life. Also Starcraft was for the nintendo 64 but they don't post every update on starcraft 2 on the wii section. GG tool. Now if the article were perhaps about a rerelease of Diablo on the PSN maybe acceptable, but really your argument is epic fail.

by jamesbrown900 - 2009-03-16 04:19
» To all who think this is relevant.

You don't have to be jews.

by jamesbrown900 - 2009-03-16 04:28
» More proof you fail.

Also, just to make your argument more fail. It's in the wii, DS, PSP and Xbox section as well. You know it's true that he just wants his *****ty copy and paste article read.

So when you start realizing that he is really being self serving, and stop sucking up. Maybe the site can resume posting content of it's usual higher standard. If you let stuff like this go on it'll just be a muddy mess of poor quality reporting.

I know you sympathize with bad news. I'm pretty sure this comes from being a veteran watcher of "The View."

» If you don't like it

just ***** off and leave. Go rant somewhere else, nobody is going to miss you.

by TPot - 2009-03-16 10:44
» Love the comments.

Obviously no-one really cares about the competition.

» jamesbrown900

i don't know where all your negativity came from dude, and i don't have to explain myself to you..

whitecloud, eunju, and others already told you why it's in the ps3 section, and if you refuse to believe that to go on about your rant, well, thanks for taking the time to visit the site anyway

by _TuRm0iL_ - 2009-03-17 15:18
» Uhh actually...

It qualifies as news because it has no section for itself, unless there is a PC section of QJ that I know nothing about. PS3 users could also very well own pc's and wish to enter.

Now could you kindly stop flaming and admit you were wrong?

by _TuRm0iL_ - 2009-03-17 15:21
» jamesbrown900

This has to do with Warcraft, Starcraft, AND Diablo. For one thing even if it was just warcraft there were 3 of them that were RTS before the MMO, so that isn't the correct section. Since it is all 3 of them, that means it entails an rpg, a mmo, and rts. So there is no one section for it.

by _TuRm0iL_ - 2009-03-17 15:25
» jamesbrown900 fails

Because this was listed in news, I'm pretty sure all sections view it. It is not four separate articles, but rather one. Otherwise I would not be able to be replying to you from psp news whilst you view ps3 news.

Once again, there is no one section for this news, so it was put in generic news.
