The best games media groups are about to battle it out in Intent Media's Games Media Awards (GMA), and the big companies behind the gaming industry are going to back them up.Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Electronic Arts, Take 2, and Vivendi will be dishing out some dough to support this major event. Their support is mostly in recognition of the media, both online and offline, for contributing to make game titles more well known through word of mouth. The PR heads represented their respective companies and gave in a few words.
David Wilson of Sony UK said "We are delighted to be a sponsor of the inaugural GMAs. Good journalism should be a source of industry pride and deserves recognition and reward."
From EA's Simon Smith-Wright, "It's going to be a great night. It's good to see the UK media being recognised."
"This event will show journalists that they are a valued and vital part of the industry," said Nintendo's Rob Saunders.
