Australians to rally for an R18+ rating |

Australians are tired of getting the short end of the gaming stick. The
lack of an R18+ rating on the OFLC means
that games with mature or adult content can easily be refused
classification and subsequently banned. They're not taking that lying
down. In fact, gamers Down Under are planning to march and hold a rally
demanding the implementation of an R18+ rating. The protest rally is being organized by the Treat Us Like Adults movement which was founded by game developer Ethan Watson. Watson himself wants to “make games that, due to thematic content, would likely be refused classification in his home country," Gamepolitics reports. Although he has a personal motive for the movement, fact remains that he is not alone in his fight against the banhammer.
Gamers are to march on December 5th, 11AM, at King George Square in Brisbane. Watson also has one important reminder: “Just keep in mind that if you want this rally to be taken seriously by the public at large, you should probably leave your zombie gear for the Zombie Walk or Supanova.”
Case in point:
- Valve re-submitted edited Left 4 Dead 2 for OFLC appeal
- Vavle submitting two versions of Left 4 Dead 2 to OFLC
