Here are the top ten game sales across all consoles (includes Xbox, 360, PS2, PSP, GameCube, DS, GBA) in Australia last week:

Weekly Sales (Australia)
  1. V8 Supercars 3 (PS2) Codemasters
  2. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (X360) 2K Games
  3. Call Of Duty 2 (X360) Activision
  4. Ghost Recon 3 Advanced (X360) Ubisoft
  5. Project Gotham Racing 3 (X360) Microsoft
  6. The Godfather (PS2) Electronic Arts
  7. Black (PS2) Electronic Arts
  8. Perfect Dark Zero (X360) Microsoft
  9. Need For Speed: Most Wanted (X360) Electronic Arts
  10. Fight Night Round 3 (X360) Electronic Arts

Unfortunately, V8, The Godfather, and Black took first, sixth, and seventh respectively, but Xbox 360 games hold every other position, nearly sweeping the board! No surprises with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as the number one 360 title. Thanks to Remorhaz for the heads-up!

Keep an eye out for more 360-related game sales and records.

» hmmm

» Jesus Christ

How many times do we have to say, THIS IS NOT RELATED TO PSP IN ANY FREAKING WAY!

If people want to hear 360 news they will read the 360 blog.

If it was big news such as 'Homebrew on 360 yay' then i could understand but this is just *****ing amature.

» WTH

PS2 and 360? The most related part of this unrelated game sale list is the ps2, witch frankly has little to do with the psp.

by GiveHaste - 2006-04-06 12:45
» ..

Yes, it is related to PSP.

"Here are the top ten game sales across all consoles"

Once again, the main part.

"all consoles"

Just so you remember it for future reference.

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

"all consoles"

Got it now?

» wtf.

It may say "across all consoles" but I can't see anyone really giving a ***** unless there was a PSP game on there, which there isn't.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 13:07
» Yeah!

Unfortunate... BUT OBLIVION *****ING ROCKS!

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 13:11
» but...

DOZ DIS WERK ON MA 2.6 KTHNXBYEGG

by Thorlord - 2006-04-06 13:25
» not unfortunate

that whole "unfortunately" comment made me just hate the author as he obviously has a bias against the 360 and for the PS2.

its amazing to me, at least there is one part of the world that actually plays the console before sayings its bad, and at least australia seems to value all consoles rather than just japanese consoles (like so many people here in america and japan seem to do)

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 13:30
» indeed

Indeed. I agree with the poster above..

There isnt a single PSP title in this news post.

Sure its fun posting game sales top 10...

But if it's not in any way related to PSP, why should I give a *****k?

» Sales

Most sales lists are listed across every console because sales affect every console. The fact that there is no PSP game on there is indicating that the PSP's software is in trouble in that particular region. Although, I think Australia just got the 360 so that might be why the sales of the games are so high there.

This is related to the PSP. You gotta read between the lines. I'm sure many PSP-fans are interested in knowing how well, or how badly, the games for their system is selling down under.

» Hrm...

"Keep an eye out for more 360-related game sales and records."

Right, and that's why it says this at the bottom.

» Come on guys...

Keep in mind guys, this was writen for more than just PSPupdates, it is also on the 360 blog, and most likely the 360 blog was the intended one, hence all the 360 comments. Either way, one article that has limited PSPness will hardly kill you, it's not like you have to read it...

by shredd - 2006-04-06 15:09
» I dont get it.....

whats up with all this australia coverage sales in australia? they have a population of 20 million. which means there's a ton of countries that are more important to PSP sales, or is just because its an english speaking country?

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 16:34
» ugh

Man, pspupdates has went down the crapper when they hired these new blog posters. Their writing is horrible, a lot of the stuff is old, a lot of "advertisements, " and plain offtopic junk, like this one. I wouldn't say anything if there was at least one psp title in there, but come on.

And who cares about australia only sales? Their sales is so miniscule compared to the US, Europe, and Japan... again, if you combined all of the figures into four separate charts in one post, then it wouldn't have been a big deal.

It's just annoying that this blog is starting to get "regioned biased." I've noticed a lot of bloggers put in european news that is old in the US... which is fine, but they really should mark the blog post with what region it refers to.

by InTheZoneAC - 2006-04-06 16:48
» stupid aussies

either they all have a 360 or the few that do play games only have a 360

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 18:54
» The X360 Was Just Released

The reason so many X360 games are being sold here is because it was only just released. Notice that not a great deal of PSP, PS2, XBox or GC games have been just released in Australia, and you wonder why?

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 18:54
» stupid US'ns

Just because most of the internet is revolved around stupid USA, doesn't meant that when there's a post about Australia, that you have to get all worked up... if you don't like the article, DONT *****ING READ IT!

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-06 19:07
» wth

please make some news filters, honestly if it aint homebrew I dont care. I visit plenty of other sites for the general video game news/info.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-07 01:28
» ??????????????????????

Whats with you people!

I am a proud Australain, and so are many other people who visit this site, and just because we dont have a *****ing huge population, that dosent mean we dont get to see any info about Aussie game sales. Beleive it or not, Australia has some of the highest game sales considering our population.

Just beacuse this news dosent involve the USA or Europe, it dosent mean you should start *****ing whinging. And yes Australias game market does vary and cannot be properly compared to the USA's Europes or Japans, each week there is a mixed bunch in top selling games on all platforms.

The only reason it is all 360, is because it was recently released in Australia, just like in Europe. In a months time expect to see 360 games slowly drop off the list!

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-07 02:43
» Why all the PSP Updates Bashing

Its like you guys think you own this site. If you can post better news, apply to be an updater. But you wont, and instead you just waste your time *****ing.

I feel this is very relivent news since is clearly show the PSP is selling very little games. And most people that have a PSP are also interested in other platforms.

Whats really ruining this site is all these useless post, and all the Fanboys. PSPupdates needs to ban Anonymous posts. Then we wont see all the kiddies in here thinking PSPupdates actually owes them something.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-07 02:58
» Yea agreed

I am no.21 and yea, even though its ironic i agree with you, get rid of anonymous coward. Then ill properly set up an account

by Thorlord - 2006-04-07 21:27
» my GOD

why in GODS NAME is there always some idiot saying "why is this posted in the PSP updates section?"

why? BECAUSE THIS IS A GLOBAL CONSOLE NEWS COVERING ALL CONSOLES AND HANDHELDS.

you notice you never hear any DS gamers coming in saying "why was this posted in the DS gaming section?" or "Why was this posted in the PS3 gaming section?" or "Why was this posted in the revolution gaming section?" no its ALWAYS:

"Why was this posted in the PSP updates section?"

know what? SHUT THE HELL UP. grow some balls and get used to it, and learn to ignore it, because its just damn annoying how there are so many morons who own PSPs that demand that they get 100% of what they want no matter what, and if they DONT get it they ***** and whine to the rest of us.

by Vecha - 2006-04-09 15:09
» psp kiddies....

I kinda like ps3 fanboys more then the psp ones....the ps3 ones seems a little more mature...
