With only a day to go before release, Atlus USA is continuing to drum up more buzz for its localized release, Crimson Gem Saga. Today, they gave out a peek at two of the game's features: the Ambush system and Critical Combos.

The Ambush system will let players get the drop on monsters, giving them a chance to exploit enemies unaware of their presence. The reverse can also happen, and whoever scores an ambush will get a free team attack to kick the battle off, so it adds a little risk/reward conundrum to the gameplay.

The Critical Combo system, on the other hand, will let you attack for a second and possibly third time whenever you score a critical hit with a physical attack. No button mashing, though -- the timing will be different for each character and you're only given a split second to follow the critical up with another hit.

Crimson Gem Saga will hit retail tomorrow, May 26.
