Things are looking grim for posting Q2 2007's disheartening financial report and announcing that the company will stop developing games to focus on publishing, but Atari's arm in Europe wants to make it clear that the problem does not involve those outside the US. Atari Europe will continue to develop games, said PR head Lee Kirton.

"For Atari Europe business is fine. There's been some restructuring in the US but it doesn't affect Europe," Kirton told GameSpot. Parent company Infogrames has taken the Test Drive license, but development of Alone in the Dark, Test Drive Unlimited and other announced titles are still in the pipeline.

Atari expressed doubts in the company's "ability to continue as a going concern," but Atari folks from Europe don't seem to be fazed. Kirton wants gamers to know that upcoming titles being made in Europe are not affected even after development studios in the US were sold.
